Vietnam is becoming a rapidly developing market in terms of infrastructure and technology-based services, creating a competitive investment environment in the region. However, the shortage of qualified IT human resources is a major problem affecting competitiveness, and training and practical experience for young professionals play a crucial role in this.

According to DxReports statistics, the proportion of IT professionals in Vietnam is estimated at approximately 1.1% of the current 51 million workforce. Simultaneously, TopDev's human resources report indicates that the demand for IT professionals in Vietnam is continuously increasing. Forecasts for 2022-2024 suggest a shortage of 150,000-195,000 programmers/engineers annually. Notably, only 35% of the 57,000 IT students currently meet the requirements of businesses; the remainder require retraining.
Despite attractive salaries ranging from 13.8 to 25 million VND and 30 to 50 million VND depending on years of experience, the workforce still falls short of the pace of technological development and the entry requirements of businesses. This indicates that improving the quality of human resource training to meet market demands is a problem that needs to be addressed promptly.
Ms. Nguyen Hoang Anh, representing ATCollabo Center, shared: “Most businesses face difficulties in recruiting IT personnel with the necessary skills and ability to quickly adapt to the team; businesses often have to spend resources, including manpower, finances, and training time, on new employees. This impacts the speed of development and competitiveness of the business.”
