To better serve customers and drive growth, SCG has brought key SAP business planning applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) and cross-business data management software, to the AWS cloud.
By running its SAP applications on AWS, SCG is able to combine production and inventory data in real time between operations in various locations, such as Vietnam. As a result, SCG is able to develop new services that improve customer experience by providing easy and secure access to various services, while reducing IT costs by 30%.
Using AWS services, SCG developed Trinity, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform that connects SCG with business partners and third-party solution providers to deploy smart life-saving solutions, such as elderly and patient monitoring systems and air quality control solutions in apartment buildings.
The Accenture AWS Business Collaboration Group (AABG), a more than decade-old collaborative project between Accenture and AWS, is the enabler of SCG's cloud journey. Accenture's Thailand IT One company is in charge of SCG's migration to AWS. IT One has modernized SCG's SAP systems on AWS, building a technology foundation to develop new services with the ability to automate IT infrastructure provisioning, improve security controls, and easily update software on a corporate-wide scale.
“Across the region, organizations are leveraging cloud technology to rapidly evolve, enhancing their efficiency and innovation,” said Vatsun Thirapatarapong, Country Manager for AWS Thailand. AWS is helping SCG improve with our world-leading cloud infrastructure, including the soon-to-be-launched AWS Bangkok Region. SCG sets the industry-leading standard by harnessing and applying data to improve operations and develop new customer services.”
