During the peak of the floods, many households in Pac Ngoi and Bo Lu villages of Ba Be commune had to relocate people and property to safe places. Immediately after the water receded, the local authorities mobilized militia forces, youth union members, and young people to help residents clean up their houses, clear waterways, sanitize the environment, and disinfect the flooded areas.
Mr. Ma The Bach, from Pac Ngoi village, Ba Be commune, said: "Here, whenever there is heavy and prolonged rain, the water level rises, so people have proactively moved valuable assets to higher ground, resulting in less damage compared to previous times. People have also stockpiled food, so there is no shortage. Currently, the water has receded, but the flooded vegetables, rice fields, and corn crops, along with the lack of clean water for daily use, are difficulties that people still face."
As a locality that suffered significant economic damage, the lives of the people were greatly affected. However, with timely support from the commune and province, households were provided with food, clean water, medicine, and essential necessities. To date, most households have basically stabilized their lives.
Mr. Hua Duc Giap, Secretary of the Pac Ngoi village Party branch in Ba Be commune, said: Thanks to the quick information about typhoon No. 11, Pac Ngoi village has forwarded directives from higher authorities to a shared Zalo group; and has propagated and mobilized people to proactively move their family's belongings to safe places. After the water recedes, the village will focus on environmental sanitation and spraying disinfectants to ensure safety.
