| Delegates visit the venue where the Second National Congress of the Party was held. |
The source of history and belief
Going back 75 years, from February 11th to 19th, 1951, amidst the vast forests of Viet Bac, the Second Congress of the Party took place. This was a vital event as our Party began operating openly under the name of the Vietnam Labor Party. With the participation of 158 official delegates and 53 alternate delegates, representing over 760,000 party members, the Congress outlined the path to complete victory in the resistance war.
Today, stepping onto Na Loang Hill, visitors cannot help but feel moved as they witness the preserved and restored working spaces of the Central Party and Government . From the simple bamboo and thatch-built congress hall to the living and working huts of President Ho Chi Minh and other leaders at nearby locations such as Kien Dai, Linh Phu, and Vinh Quang.
Amidst the simple mountains and forests, the humble bamboo and thatched huts further highlight the intellectual stature and indomitable will of our ancestors. This is the first deeply moving lesson about the spirit of sacrifice, reminding today's generation of their gratitude to those who laid the foundation for national independence.
Instead of dry theoretical textbooks, traditional education in Jinping is conducted through hands-on experiential activities. Every year, it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors. Government agencies, organizations, and schools regularly hold ceremonies at the foot of the memorial, including offering incense, reporting achievements, and admitting new Party and Youth Union members.
In that cultural space, cultural exchange performances and revolutionary songs resounding amidst the mountains and forests create an invisible yet strong connection between the past and the present. This is not only an opportunity for each cadre and Party member to reflect on themselves, but also a place where the stories of our ancestors ignite faith and aspirations in the hearts of each person, transforming gratitude into a desire to contribute and build a more prosperous and beautiful homeland.”

Spreading the value of "historical landmarks"
Upon arriving in Kim Binh for the first time, young Party member Pham Anh Tuan from Ha Trung commune, Thanh Hoa province, who had just joined the Party, could not hide his emotion and pride, saying: “In the sacred space where the Second Party Congress took place, I deeply feel the indomitable will of the previous generations. This trip is a milestone in my growth, helping a new Party member like me to internalize the revolutionary ideals. Standing before the historical site, I promise to bring that spirit back to my hometown, determined to dedicate my youthful energy to building a prosperous and beautiful Thanh Hoa.”
Standing amidst the historic Kim Binh revolutionary base, veteran Nguyen Anh Tuan from Dan Hoa commune, Quang Tri province, was deeply moved. Having experienced the fires of the Quang Tri Citadel, he profoundly appreciated the value of peace and the ideological foundation laid by the Second Party Congress. For him, this journey back to his roots was a great honor in his military career. Looking back at the simple relics, he further admired the unwavering will of his forefathers and hoped to pass on this revolutionary spirit to future generations.
What gives the Kim Binh historical site its vibrant spirit are the stories told by historical witnesses, creating a close and intimate bond between the Party and the people. Ms. Phan Thi Nguyet, a native of Kim Binh, fondly shared: “According to my father and the elders in the village, back then, my father and many people in the commune had the honor of participating in preparing the facilities and building the Congress venue on Na Loang hill. The Congress took place during the Lunar New Year, so the people were able to celebrate a warm and cozy New Year with President Ho Chi Minh. That memory is not only a momentous event for the country but also an image of an extremely simple and approachable leader.”
That deep, heartfelt connection remains intact through the passage of time. For the head of Bo Cung village, Dang Thi Kim, who has dedicated over 20 years to caring for the village in this historic Bo Cung land – every inch of land, every blade of grass carries the breath of a glorious past. Ms. Kim proudly shares: Although years have passed, in her heart and in the hearts of the villagers, the emotion of their homeland being chosen to host the Second Party Congress remains a sacred memory. This honor is not just a memory, but also a source that binds the people to the Party, cherished by the people of Bo Cung and passed down to their descendants as a treasure of their family and homeland.
Emphasizing the role of the locality in continuing the tradition, Ms. Lo Thi Van, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Kim Binh commune, affirmed: The commune has always considered the protection and promotion of the value of the special national historical site as a central and continuous political task. Not stopping at coordinating the preservation of tangible items, the commune government also proactively implements action programs to spread a sense of responsibility to each household. This ranges from launching movements to care for the landscape and maintain environmental hygiene to building a civilized lifestyle in the area.
The enduring appeal of this "historical landmark" has touched the hearts of people from all over the country who have visited. A visitor from the distant province of Dong Nai, after traveling thousands of kilometers to Kim Binh, could not hide his emotion: "Seeing with my own eyes the simple huts and the trails that Uncle Ho and our ancestors used to walk, I truly understand the hardships of our forefathers. Standing here, amidst the mountains and forests, I feel I need to be more responsible in my work and life to be worthy of what our forefathers have built."
Kim Binh not only preserves a glorious history but is also the birthplace of hopeful springs. Amidst the spring colors of Kim Binh, Na Loang Hill shines with the spirit of "Unity and Consensus" of the past Congress. Stepping here in the spring weather, one's heart is warmed by the revolutionary spirit, strengthening faith in the cause of building the nation. The traditional values of Kim Binh will forever be like sprouting shoots, providing further motivation for generations to continue writing the heroic epic.
