Currently, the Phu Yen Water Supply Branch serves over 5,000 customers in Phu Yen commune (formerly part of Quang Huy town). The main water sources are Tac stream and Ngọt stream, with two water treatment plants having a total capacity of 4,300 m³ /day. The water source area is demarcated and marked to protect the water source; coordination with local authorities is carried out to educate and encourage people to comply with regulations on water source protection.
Mr. Ngo The Nghia, Branch Director, stated: "We regularly check the water quality in the upstream area. We treat the incoming water source using sedimentation, filtration, and chemical treatment to ensure the water meets the standards of the Ministry of Health . The branch has completed the installation of a separate raw water intake pipeline and a high-capacity pump at the first-stage pumping station. We have also completed the installation of a loss control meter and constructed a sediment discharge pipeline for the discharge pipe from the first-stage station to the second-stage station."
Mr. Dinh Van Hoa, a technician at the Na Xa Water Supply Station, informed: During the operation of the water treatment plant during the rainy season, we strictly adhered to the process of sedimentation, filtration, and treatment of water using Chloramine-B chemicals. After the water treatment process, we continued to test the water using machines, and only when the indicators met the standards of the Ministry of Health were they pumped into the system for people to use.
From 2024 to the present, the branch has conducted a review and assessment of the water pipeline system from pumping stations to households, spanning over 50 km. Water supply has been ensured to be stable; water treatment plants also utilize software to monitor water pressure at the pumps. The main water pipes have been replaced with standard, pressure-resistant plastic pipes, reducing water loss.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, from sub-district 6, Phu Yen commune, shared: "During the process of using water at home, I regularly check the water pipe system, repair any damaged or leaking points. Using water sparingly ensures a long-term water supply and minimizes household expenses."
The Phù Yên Water Supply Branch's commitment to ensuring a regular, continuous, timely, and safe water supply for the people has contributed to improving the quality of life for local residents and moving towards building a green and sustainable new rural area.
