According to a private source, this afternoon (August 13th), the Investigation Police Department of Thanh Hoa province executed an arrest warrant and searched the workplace of Mr. Dinh Xuan Huong, Secretary of the Nhu Thanh District Party Committee.
The reason for the arrest has not been announced by the authorities.
It is known that Mr. Dinh Xuan Huong (born in 1970) previously served as the General Director of Song Ma Company, located at 467 Le Hoan Street, Ngoc Trao Ward, Thanh Hoa City.
At the time Mr. Huong was working at Song Ma Company, he signed a decision proposing to the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee the transfer of the Hac Thanh Tower Project from Song Ma Company (the primary investor) to Huy Hoang Company (the secondary investor).
The Hac Thanh Tower project has numerous irregularities. The Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency has initiated a criminal case, indicted and temporarily detained Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung, former Secretary of the Nhu Xuan District Party Committee and former Deputy Director of the Department of Finance.
Mr. Van Xuan Hung, former Head of the Public Assets and Pricing Management Department, Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Finance.
Ms. Dinh Cam Van, former Director of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Finance.
The aforementioned individuals have all been prosecuted and arrested for the crime of "Abusing their position and authority while performing official duties" in connection with the Hac Thanh Tower Project, located at 03 Phan Chu Trinh Street, Dien Bien Ward, Thanh Hoa City.
The incident is still under investigation.
