On June 19th, the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong ward, Gia Lai province, submitted a report to the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee regarding the adjustment of entrance fees to the Eo Gió tourist area. Accordingly, from June 15th, the entrance fee will be adjusted from 22,000 VND per person to 50,000 VND per person, equivalent to an increase of over 127% compared to the current price.

In light of this, the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong ward noted that the winning bidder had only recently taken over the management and operation of the Eo Gió tourist area.

The People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong ward assessed that increasing the ticket price from 22,000 VND to 50,000 VND per trip without corresponding investment in infrastructure, amenities, and service quality could create disapproval among the people, tourism businesses, and tourists, affecting the competitiveness of the destination.

The People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong ward also stated that, in the context of the province focusing on developing tourism into an important economic sector, a significant increase in ticket prices risks reducing the number of visitors, directly affecting the operations of travel agencies, accommodation establishments, restaurants, transportation services, trade, and the livelihoods of people involved in tourism activities in the area.

To ensure a balance between the interests of the operating unit and the sustainable tourism development goals of the locality, the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong Ward requests the Provincial People's Committee to consider temporarily postponing the application of the 50,000 VND/trip ticket price until the operating unit completes the investment in infrastructure, landscape, tourism products and services according to the committed plan.

In response to the situation, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee announced that it has issued a document regarding the inspection of the adjustment of entrance fees at the Eo Gió Tourist Area.

Accordingly, after reviewing the report from the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong ward regarding the adjustment of entrance fees at the Eo Gió tourist area, the Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to take the lead, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong ward, and other relevant agencies and units, to inspect and review the basis for determining the entrance fees at the Eo Gió tourist area.

In addition, assess the appropriateness of price adjustments to the actual situation in the tourist area according to regulations, and propose solutions to any problems or aspects that are inconsistent with legal regulations (if any).
