The incident occurred on September 3rd in Mook Trang village, Ia Dom commune. The victims were nine Jarai students aged 10-14, residing in the village.

According to initial investigations, while their parents were away working in the fields, the children conspired to kidnap a frog, butcher it, prepare it, and eat it.

After eating toad meat, the group of students exhibited symptoms of poisoning such as nausea, abdominal pain, difficulty breathing, numbness of the lips and tongue, and fatigue.
