(HNMO) - On June 7, Dong Da District Police (Hanoi) said that the unit is currently consolidating records to handle two subjects who have obstructed and assaulted reporters of Hanoi Radio and Television Station.
As soon as the incident happened, the Dong Da District Police arrested one subject, the other escaped and presented himself.
Earlier, at 14:25 p.m. on June 6, when a group of reporters from Hanoi Radio and Television was preparing to deploy a camera to record the sale and purchase of electric fans at the sidewalk area in front of the electric fan shop at 6 Dong Cac, O Cho Dua area, Dong Da district (Hanoi), an object rushed out and asked not to film or take pictures.
Although it was explained that the operation area was under the roadway, where there was no sign prohibiting filming or taking pictures, the subject still shouted loudly, grabbed the collar and kicked the TTC reporter.
Then another subject also joined the assault. Even when someone intervened, and the TTC reporter collapsed on the road, these two subjects continued to punch and kick. Even when TTC reporters were taken by their colleagues to the car of Hanoi Radio and Television Station, these subjects still followed the car and threatened.
Immediately after the incident happened, reporters reported to the police of O Cho Dua ward, Dong Da district and took TTC reporters to the hospital for emergency treatment and treatment due to multiple injuries.
Police of O Cho Dua ward immediately brought an object of assaulting TTC reporter to the office. The remaining subjects who fled also showed up in the evening of the same day.
Before the serious nature of the case, the police of O Cho Dua ward handed over the two subjects to the Dong Da district police to consolidate the records and handle them. Dong Da District Police has made an initial report on the immediate implementation of legal measures to strictly handle thugs and disregard for the law of the subjects.
Hanoi Radio and Television Station has also asked the authorities to verify and clarify the incident and strictly handle the thugs and disregard for the law of those who assault journalists; take necessary measures to protect journalists who are operating in accordance with the provisions of the law.
