(HNMO) - On the evening of June 15, the Vietnamese team had a 6-1 victory over Hong Kong (China), in an international friendly match at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong). This is also the first official match of coach Philippe Troussier as captain of the national team.
Immediately after the opening whistle, Vietnamese players flooded Hong Kong's yard, holding high pressing. In the early minutes of the match, maintaining a reasonable distance from the squad helped coach Philippe Troussier's students completely control the game and create the first dangerous opportunities.
However, Hong Kong is not an easy team to be bullied, the visitors' players have played quite well defensively, and there are remarkable attacking situations that make goalkeeper Dang Van Lam have to struggle. Under the pressure of Vietnamese players, the away team's defense made a mistake.
In the 31st minute, Quang Hai was fouled by Goncalve Helio in the penalty area, the referee immediately blew the penalty. On the 11m mark, captain Que Ngoc Hai did not miss the opportunity to beat goalkeeper Tse Ka Wing, raising the score to 1-0. The score was maintained until the end of the half.
In the second half, coach Philippe Troussier launched Hai Huy, Dinh Thanh Binh, Phan Tuan Tai, Xuan Manh, Khuat Van Khang to replace Hoang Duc, Van Tung, Thanh Binh, Tuan Anh, and Van Hau.
After using up the right to change people, the Vietnamese team is no longer overwhelming in the ability to control the ball but still dominate the game. However, by the end of the match, the Vietnamese team still could not get another goal against the away team.
Winning at least 1-0 against Hong Kong (China), coach Philippe Troussier made a favorable debut as the national team head coach.
This victory helps the Vietnamese team prepare well for the friendly match with the Syrian team on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh).
