The 24-year-old star suffered a torn ligament and injury to his right knee during the CONCACAF Nations League third-place match between Canada and the United States on March 24. After returning to Germany, Davies immediately underwent surgery and is officially out of action for the rest of the season.
Bayern are extremely angry with how the CSA handled the health situation of their key player. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen emphatically stated: "We demand that the Canadian Football Association conduct a full investigation into the matter and do not rule out the possibility of legal action."
He added: "Allowing a player with a clearly injured knee to travel on a 12-hour transcontinental flight without thorough medical examination is a grave act of negligence, a breach of basic medical care obligations."
Sporting Director Christoph Freund also expressed his frustration: "Davies had been complaining of fatigue before. He's the captain, a young man always eager to contribute to his country. But this injury is the result of unprofessionalism and irresponsibility."
Head coach Vincent Kompany will be without Davies for the final stages of the Bundesliga season as well as the Champions League campaign this season, with the final being held at their home stadium, Allianz Arena.
Not only Davies, but center-back Dayot Upamecano also returned from international duty with a minor knee injury. Meanwhile, defender Kim Min-jae, who had been sidelined due to a previous injury, has put Bayern's defense in a precarious situation.
