Closing Ceremony of the National Press Forum 2026

On the afternoon of June 20th, the closing session of the 2026 National Press Forum took place at the Hai Phong City Convention and Performance Center.

Within the framework of the program, delegates participated in 11 sessions (opening, closing, and 9 in-depth discussion sessions), focusing on many key issues such as protecting the Party's ideological foundation; building trust in the digital media environment; cooperation between the press and businesses; developing the press economy ; protecting press copyright in the age of artificial intelligence (AI); promoting Vietnam's image in the digital ecosystem; restructuring and streamlining press agencies; applying AI in newsrooms; innovating policy communication and enhancing the strategic autonomy of press agencies.

Opinions at the forum unanimously agreed that the rapid development of digital technology and AI is creating both opportunities and challenges for journalism. To maintain its role in guiding information and meeting public needs, media organizations need to promote innovation, improve content quality, effectively utilize data and technology, and develop sustainable business models.

In particular, within the framework of the Forum, the Vietnam Journalists Association announced a set of 10 rules for using AI in journalism, emphasizing the principle that AI is only a supporting tool, not a replacement for journalists; all content created by AI must be verified, edited, and accountable by humans; and at the same time ensure requirements regarding copyright, transparency, professional ethics, and compliance with the law.

In his concluding remarks, Comrade Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, affirmed: "In the context of strong digital transformation, integrity, professional ethics, and public trust continue to be the most valuable assets of mainstream journalism, serving as the foundation for building a professional, humane, modern, and sustainably developing press."
