On that farewell day, we exchanged hastily pressed phoenix flower petals and crape myrtle petals from our notebooks, as a way of forever remembering those vibrant, youthful years, as bright as the red of the phoenix flower and as dreamy as the purple of the crape myrtle.
There are memories that seem to have faded away silently with the passage of time, yet just by touching upon a past moment, countless fond memories return as if it were yesterday.
The red blossoms of the flamboyant tree transport us back to the scents of the past, to bygone seasons, where we relive carefree days of studying while our souls wandered outside the window. There, we found dreams and aspirations of school days for a bright future. There, we played and frolicked in the schoolyard, our laughter echoing through the rustling trees in the wind.
The vibrant red of the flamboyant tree evokes in our souls the innocent emotions of those days, when stolen glances could make our hearts race, and the pages of school yearbooks served as proof of the shy, hesitant, and unspoken affections of our school days.
Summer arrives, and with it comes the return of many students to their innocent childhoods, filled with the excitement of reunion day. Though the dust of time may have etched wrinkles around their eyes and streaks of gray in their hair, nothing can stop the eager hearts longing for the day they can rediscover their memories—where fallen phoenix flower petals evoke the nostalgia of a carefree school life.
After so many years apart, friends reunited, and everyone was moved to tears. We got to see our teachers again—those who dedicated their lives to guiding us on our educational journey; we got to meet our friends again; we got to return to our old school to relive our innocent youth by the window; we got to see our own naive selves from those bygone years; and the radiant joy returned, filling the eyes and smiles of those who once shared a sky full of youthful, dreamy memories.
