Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Vice Chairperson of the Ben Cau District People's Committee, presented the First Class Resistance Medal to Mr. Le Van Trao.
During the resistance war against the US, Mr. Trao participated in digging secret tunnels to hide many revolutionary cadres (Mr. Pham Hoang Dao, Duong Van Dam (10 Lung), Tran Binh Trong (Ut Trong). Every day, Mr. Trao prepared meals, performed guard duty, and bought paper and pens for the revolutionary cadres to make leaflets to spread propaganda against the enemy.
After the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975), Mr. Trao participated in social work in An Thanh commune and raised six children, ensuring they received a good education. Currently, two of his children work in the police force.
Authorized by the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the district, presented the First Class Resistance Medal to Mr. Le Van Trao for his achievements in the resistance war against the US and for national salvation.
This is a prestigious award, a recognition from the Party and the State for individuals who made contributions, dedications, and were willing to sacrifice themselves in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
