ISO 15189:2022 is an international standard specific to medical imaging departments, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and safety in diagnostic imaging services.

According to ISO 15189:2022 regulations, Medlatec must standardize and satisfy the requirements for the accreditation process, including all steps such as contract review, assessment preparation, document review, departmental assessment, and accreditation decision.

Professor, Labor Hero Nguyen Anh Tri - Member of the National Assembly in the 14th and 15th terms, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Medlatec Group, Chairman of the Science, Technology and Training Council of Medlatec Group, delivered a congratulatory speech at the ceremony.

After 12 months of effort and determination to overcome numerous rigorous assessments regarding personnel and training, equipment, chemicals and supplies, information management, etc., the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Medlatec General Hospital is honored to become the first medical facility in Vietnam to be accredited with ISO 15189:2022 by the National Accreditation Office (BoA) of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Vice President of the Science and Technology and Training Council of Medlatec Group; and Director of Professional Services at Medlatec Diagnostic Imaging Center, stated that the ISO assessment team and its members are leading experts in the field of diagnostic imaging from various prestigious hospitals.

In particular, BOA's ISO 15189:2022 accreditation process was very professional and detailed, clearly identifying the conformity and non-conformity of the processes developed and implemented within the department. This highlighted the achievements and areas requiring improvement to ensure compliance with ISO's strict criteria.

Speaking at the ceremony congratulating Medlatec on becoming the first medical facility in Vietnam to receive ISO 15189:2022 certification in the field of diagnostic imaging, Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), stated that, in addition to the value it brings to customers, the application of this ISO standard also brings comprehensive value in operational management, increasing customer satisfaction, reducing recurring risks, controlling equipment and image quality, reducing waiting times, ensuring customer information security, and enhancing customer experience.

Besides ISO 15189:2022 for diagnostic imaging, Medlatec Testing Center is also a pioneer in applying two international standards simultaneously: ISO 15189:2022 and CAP (USA). Furthermore, this healthcare system is the first medical facility whose testing services will be honored as a Vietnamese National Brand in 2024.

Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), congratulated Medlatec on becoming the first medical facility in Vietnam to receive ISO 15189:2022 certification in the field of diagnostic imaging.

At the ceremony, Master of Science, resident physician Dao Danh Vinh, Executive Director of Medlatec Diagnostic Imaging Center, shared about "The journey of building an ISO 15198:2022 quality management system for diagnostic imaging services at Medlatec Healthcare System".

According to Dr. Vinh, besides the honor and pride of being the first medical facility in Vietnam to be recognized with the ISO 15189:2022 quality certification standard, to maintain this prestigious certification, Medlatec needs continuous improvement and annual periodic inspections. The unit also considers this a great motivation to continue maintaining and perfecting its processes and expanding ISO to other technical services such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, interventional procedures, etc.
