Binh Thuan is shifting its economic structure.

In the early days of the year, we visited Binh Thuan commune and clearly felt the joy and excitement of the people regarding the results of production and business in 2025. These results have also created momentum for the commune to confidently enter 2026 with the determination to develop its potential, exploit its strengths, develop sustainable agriculture, and improve the lives of its people.

In 2025, the productivity and output of key crops in Binh Thuan commune increased compared to the same period of the previous year. The people in the commune currently maintain over 800 hectares of tea plantations, yielding 8,000 tons of fresh tea leaves; 987 hectares of coffee plantations, yielding nearly 2,000 tons of fresh coffee beans; and 400 hectares of various fruit trees, yielding 3,000-4,000 tons of fruit. In addition, the people maintain the cultivation of nearly 600 hectares of grain crops, yielding over 2,000 tons. Notably, the people continue to promote the development of agricultural production models, such as: a model of planting and developing avocado and macadamia trees intercropped with coffee and tea plants, covering an area of ​​8.5 hectares; and a model of growing oranges with Israeli-technology irrigation, covering 2 hectares... Continue to implement several models of organic tea and coffee cultivation, and high-tech tea growing areas in the commune.

In addition, the livestock sector continues to develop towards commodity production. The commune directs the people to effectively implement disease prevention and control measures for livestock; organizes regular vaccinations for livestock and poultry; and guides people in sheltering livestock and protecting them from hunger and cold during the winter... Currently, the entire commune has over 18,000 head of livestock and more than 68,000 head of poultry. Furthermore, it maintains nearly 55 hectares of water surface for aquaculture, with a production of over 120 tons of various types of fish.

Hung Nhan village, Binh Thuan commune, is a shining example of developing a tea-growing economic model, with over 25 hectares of tea plantations yielding 300 tons of fresh tea leaves; and 23 hectares of fruit trees, including dragon fruit, mango, and longan, producing approximately 300 tons of various fruits. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, Deputy Secretary of the village Party branch, shared: "Currently, we are continuing to encourage villagers to apply scientific and technological advancements to production to improve the productivity and quality of agricultural products; striving to ensure that by the end of 2026, 100% of households in the village will have a living standard at or above the average level."

Alongside agricultural development, the commune's trade and service sector has made significant progress; the goods market is abundant, meeting the production and consumption needs of the people, and a widespread service network has been established in the commune center; encouraging households to diversify their business types and expand their wholesale and retail networks. Approximately 1,000 households in the commune are engaged in business and services, with an average revenue of 100 million VND per household per year or more.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, from Kien Xuong village, Binh Thuan commune, said: "My family lives in the central market area. Taking advantage of that, I opened a shop selling various goods, such as groceries, agricultural products like pomelos and longans, and processed tea. The products are of guaranteed quality and meet the needs of people in the area and surrounding regions. My family's shop attracts a large number of customers, with annual revenue exceeding 300 million VND."

Tourism activities in Binh Thuan have initially achieved some important results. These include the development of several tourist attractions, such as Pha Din Top – a tourist and experiential destination invested in and built by the Pha Din Tourism Cooperative. The tea plantations of Thu Dan Tea Company Limited have also become popular "check-in" spots attracting many tourists. In particular, in the last months of 2025, the commune focused on completing the expansion and paving of internal roads in the tea plantation area, aiming to develop the tea growing region in conjunction with ecotourism, enhance product value, and create destinations for tourists to visit and experience. The total number of tourists in 2025 is expected to exceed 5,000, with estimated tourism revenue reaching nearly 1 billion VND.

Mr. Duong Gia Dinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan commune, shared: "The achievements in economic development will be an important condition for the commune to achieve the targets set by the Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, which is to reduce the poverty rate according to the multidimensional poverty standard in the 2026-2030 period to below 8%; maintain the commune's status as a new rural commune, and strive to build an additional 3-4 villages meeting the new rural standards, and 1-2 villages meeting the advanced new rural standards..."

To achieve the set goals, from the beginning of 2026, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan commune has focused on leading the people to develop the local potential and strengths, especially key crops and livestock such as tea, coffee, and large-scale livestock and poultry farming. This includes stabilizing the existing tea cultivation area while improving the quality of products with biosafety and organic farming practices. Developing livestock and poultry farming towards commercial production, effectively controlling diseases and protecting the environment... Developing diverse forms of trade and services, encouraging individual businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises to participate. At the same time, continuing to effectively implement the "Tourism and Tourism Product Development Plan to 2030"; building community tourism destinations and villages in the highland areas of the commune.
