A Nigerian woman spent 11 days creating a handmade wig that measured 351,256 meters, earning it recognition as the world's longest wig.

Helen Williams has just been honored as the person who made the world's longest handmade wig.
The Guinness World Records organization has confirmed that professional wigmaker Helen Williams has made the world's longest handmade wig, with impressively long strands of hair.
Williams said she used 1,000 bundles of hair, 12 cans of hairspray, 35 tubes of hair glue, and 6,250 hair clips to assemble the giant wig. The total cost she spent to complete this handmade wig was $2,500.
Speaking to representatives from Guinness World Records, Ms. Williams said: “Finding the materials to make the longest wig wasn’t an easy task… My experience making wigs has been incredibly helpful in this endeavor.”
Williams has been a professional wigmaker for about eight years and typically makes between 50 and 300 wigs per week. Williams says that during her time in this profession, she has trained hundreds of apprentices and made thousands of wigs.
“This achievement is the best thing that has ever happened to me… My friends and family encouraged me. I didn’t want to disappoint them, so I focused on my work. As a result, I made the world’s longest handmade wig,” Williams said.
