According to Do Thi Thu An, head coach of the An Giang Boxing team, the team has regularly organized training sessions both within and outside the province, as well as friendly matches, creating opportunities for athletes to learn from experience and improve their professional skills. Currently, the team maintains training at all three levels (8 senior athletes, 11 youth athletes, and 174 talented athletes). Promising athletes who have achieved many high results at national competitions include: Vo Thi Kim Anh, Nguyen Thi Kim Sang, Le Thi Bich Lien, Luong Thi Ngoan, Mai Thi Thao Ly, and Le Hai Au. In addition, the team also boasts promising young athletes such as: Ho Thi Kim Trong, Nguyen Thi Mong Tuyen, Trinh Thi Yen Nhi, Tran Ngoc Truc, Tran Thi Phuong Linh, Huynh Trung Thanh, Le Nguyen Thanh Do, Duong Phat Loc, and Tran Anh Quan…

Athlete Vo Thi Kim Anh is currently training with the national team, actively preparing for the 33rd SEA Games. Kim Anh stated: “My toughest opponents are Thailand and Indonesia. After the national championships, I will go to Thailand for a month of training to prepare for the SEA Games. The coaching staff has developed a very strict training and living plan, helping me to prepare well physically, technically, and tactically, aiming for the best possible results.”

Despite being in a period of "rejuvenating" its team, the provincial boxing team has made remarkable progress, contributing many achievements to An Giang sports at national and international competitions. Recently, the provincial boxing team sent 8 athletes to participate in the 2025 National Boxing Championship held in Ho Chi Minh City. This year's competition brought together 375 male and female boxers from 29 delegations representing provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide, competing in 54 weight categories across two age groups (17-18 and 19-40).

At the end of the tournament, the An Giang boxing team won 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal, ranking second overall in the women's 19-40 age group. While Vo Thi Kim Anh proved "unbeatable" against her opponent in the 54kg women's category, and Luong Thi Ngoan easily won the gold medal in the 66kg women's category, the gold medal won by young boxer Le Hai Au is particularly noteworthy. The boxer from An Giang narrowly lost at the 2025 National Strong Teams Boxing Championship. Facing Huong Giang in the semi-final of the 50kg women's category at the 2025 National Boxing Championship, Hai Au learned from experience and showed remarkable progress, always taking the initiative in all three rounds. Thanks to her movement, maintaining a good distance, and clever counter-attacks, Hai Au won on points against her opponent. She then went on to win against Nguyen Chau Kieu Chi ( Dak Lak ) in the final to claim the gold medal. "I am very happy and delighted to have won the precious gold medal at the recent championship. Currently, I am actively training, overcoming my limitations, and striving to bring the best results for the An Giang boxing team in upcoming competitions," shared female boxer Le Hai Au.

Ms. Do Thi Thu An assessed that this year's tournament had a high professional quality, featuring many exciting and engaging matches with the participation of many young and promising athletes from across the country. The achievements are the result of the efforts of each athlete, reflecting the systematic and effective investment in training and competition, especially in the training of young athletes in the sport. “In the coming time, An Giang boxing will continue to maintain training in its strong women's weight categories, focusing on developing some men's weight categories, with athletes like Huynh Trung Thanh, Le Nguyen Thanh Do, Duong Phat Loc, and Tran Anh Quan showing progress capable of competing for medals. The department will also create opportunities for athletes to train and participate in friendly matches to learn from experience and improve their professional skills. In particular, we will screen and select athletes with the potential for training, honing their techniques and tactics, and preparing the best possible team for upcoming tournaments, especially the 10th National Sports Games in 2026,” added Ms. Do Thi Thu An.
