On the evening of May 24th, Man Utd defeated Brighton 3-0 at the Amex Stadium (Brighton) in the 38th round of the English Premier League. Bruno Fernandes set a historic milestone for the Premier League. Brighton missed out on a Europa League spot but will still participate in European competition (Conference League) next season.

With Man Utd guaranteed to finish third in the league table, fans' attention is focused on Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder only needs one more assist in this match to become the player with the most assists in a Premier League season.
The tournament's historic milestone was reached in the 33rd minute. Patrick Dorgu set a record with a powerful header from a corner kick, helping Fernandes achieve it. Shortly after, Man Utd extended their lead to 2-0 when Amad Diallo assisted Bryan Mbeumo, who finished from close range into an empty net.
Brighton didn't lag behind in terms of possession. The home team held 51% of the ball and had 13 shots, more than Man Utd. However, the difference lay in the quality of chances. Brighton only had 2 shots on target and created no dangerous opportunities. Meanwhile, Man Utd had 7 shots on target, 4 dangerous chances, and an expected goals metric of 1.82.

At the start of the second half, Fernandes scored to seal the match. Dorgu's poor ball control still allowed the Portuguese midfielder to finish into the Brighton net. The assistant referee initially flagged for offside, but VAR confirmed the goal was valid.
The third goal left Brighton with virtually no chance of a comeback. The home team was forced to push forward in search of an equalizer, while also hoping for results from other matches being played simultaneously in the race for European qualification. However, Brighton's attacks lacked sharpness. They had nine shots in the second half but only two were on target.
Brighton finished the season with 53 points, placing them 8th. Although they missed out on the Europa League, the Amex Stadium side celebrated the news that Brentford failed to beat Liverpool. This meant Brighton retained their place in the Conference League.
