As soon as news of the severe damage caused by storms and floods in many provinces of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands spread, agencies, organizations, and social groups in Ca Mau simultaneously launched fundraising campaigns. Schools, temples, and other locations organized appeals for support and continuously received donations of rice, instant noodles, life jackets, bottled water, flashlights, medicine, etc., which were then packaged and transported promptly to the flood-stricken areas.
In Tri Phai commune, youth union members and commune police officers coordinated to sort received goods, prioritizing dry food and school supplies to support students returning to school after the storm and floods.
The relief items prioritized are essential daily necessities, especially usable clothing. At the donation points, volunteers carefully screen the donations to ensure that each shipment delivered to the people is of good quality and conveys a message of compassion.
Pham Van That, Secretary of the Youth Union of Tri Phai Commune Police, said: “When receiving donated necessities and clothing, we, along with the commune's youth union members, carefully sort them, selecting only those items that are truly usable and necessary for the people. Despite the long distance, we always strive to ensure that the shipments reach the people as quickly as possible.”
Volunteers at Phuoc Dien Buddhist Temple are busy meticulously arranging each gift package to ensure it arrives in time for people in Central Vietnam.
Embracing the spirit of "mutual support," many monasteries, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers actively organized fundraising and transported emergency relief supplies to Central Vietnam. Large temples throughout the province became "reception centers," attracting hundreds of Buddhists, businesses, and residents who brought rice, instant noodles, bottled water, blankets, medicine, and many other essential items.
Specifically, Phuoc Dien Buddhist Temple (Tan Tien Hamlet, Tran Van Thoi Commune) donated 15 tons of goods, including 1,000 first-aid medical kits, over 2 tons of rice, and many other essential items for flood victims.
Venerable Thich Nhuan Tri, Abbot of Phuoc Dien Buddhist Temple, shared: “Through information from the press and the actual situation in Central Vietnam, we have mobilized monks, nuns, Buddhists, and benefactors both domestically and internationally to join hands in providing support. From November 10th to 15th, we distributed 2,500 gift packages to Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, and Phu Yen. Some Buddhists, despite their own difficult lives, still donated rice. That sentiment is truly commendable.”

We hope to spread the spirit of mutual support, because right now, even a small act of sharing can help our people overcome this harsh period.”
The spirit of compassion is spreading widely through social media. Young people and organizations are using official fan pages as channels to convey messages of support for Central Vietnam. These beautiful and sincere actions highlight the fine tradition of the compassionate people of Ca Mau, who are always ready to support and share with others.
Ms. Vo Tuyet Ngan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Ca Mau Community College, said: “This activity was carried out very quickly. In just 2-3 days, the Youth Union mobilized a large amount of essential supplies to send to Dak Lak (an area formerly belonging to Phu Yen province). Many people were very conscious of choosing brand-new clothes to donate. We prioritized sending practical items so that people wouldn't have to worry about hunger or cold.”
Trucks from Ca Mau, laden with love, continue to roll towards Central Vietnam.
