"I noticed there were a lot of honeybees in my area, and some species could be raised, so I tried to find a way to raise them. Initially, I failed many times; the bees kept leaving. Later, I thoroughly researched how to keep the queen bee to build the hive, and things started to look promising," Mr. Vu shared about those difficult early days.
After the queen bee is captured, the remaining bees will follow the colony to a new hive as desired by the beekeeper.
The biggest difference in Mr. Vu's model is his sustainable approach. He doesn't harvest the honey and then abandon the hive, but focuses on preserving the colony and breeding. He absolutely avoids using industrial feed, allowing the bees to fly freely to find nectar from natural flowers and fruits around the garden. Thanks to this uninhibited process, the honey produced is guaranteed to be of high quality.
"The beekeeping environment must be kept quiet and well-ventilated; this is a crucial factor in preventing the bees from leaving," Mr. Vu added.
The results of a natural beekeeping model. Each liter of honey sells for between 900,000 and 1,000,000 VND.
Mr. Tran Phuong Vu's model has transformed a traditional hobby into an effective economic development direction. More importantly, domestication contributes to preserving natural honeybee resources, opening up a way of farming that is natural and sustainable.
Mr. Vu said he is willing to share his techniques with anyone who wants to learn them.
