The shop doesn't have a fancy name, it's simply called "Salt Coffee", that's enough. It is not a "fever" or a "trend" that has emerged recently, but inherently, salted coffee has been present in Hue for about ten years, adding a unique feature to the ancient capital's culinary picture.
From outside, you have to go through a small passage leading deep into the shop. Opening before your eyes is a beautiful, cool and green garden space. Almost every time I come, I see a crowd. This is originally a house, so the owner uses it to display the shop, so it brings a true garden (home) atmosphere without trying to create it like a garden-cafe.
I like to sit right in the L-shaped corner of the restaurant, it's airy and bright. Looking through the glass door, I can see the clear sky filled with trees. I can watch people come and go happily, and hear the sound of teeth, tissues, and limbs in my ears. , full of Hue love.
Coming here, it is impossible not to enjoy salt coffee. A "memorable" cup costs only 15.000 VND. It is known that to prepare it, you need a little condensed milk, fermented milk and salt. This layer of salt foam has just the right amount of light, spongy and bouncy texture, not too salty but not greasy or heavy. Combine coffee, stir well, we immediately have an attractive drink, blending all the flavors of fatty, nutty, bitter, sweet, and salty, leaving an unforgettable aftertaste.
Contributing to the uniqueness of the cup of salted coffee here is also the coffee filter served to guests. The aluminum filters are not exactly shiny new, even a little dented, but they bring an interesting feeling and experience: leisurely sitting and waiting for the drops of black coffee to slowly drip down. Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, sitting leisurely next to a coffee filter is actually a "healing" therapy.
Come to Hue and Salt Coffee to feel it.
