According to Agoda, many domestic destinations such as Ly Son, Ninh Binh , Mang Den, and international destinations like Cebu, Barcelona, and Istanbul are experiencing strong demand.

Vietnamese tourists are looking for new and unique experiences.

“Vietnamese tourists are increasingly interested in new and unique destinations that offer profound experiences and better suit their individual preferences and needs. For the 2026 summer vacation, we have observed a trend of tourists seeking lesser-known destinations that offer a full range of experiences in nature, culture, and a strong sense of exploration , from pristine islands and heritage centers to highlands with mild climates,” shared Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda Vietnam.

Accordingly, the digital travel platform Agoda has just announced a list of "emerging" destinations that are attracting the attention of Vietnamese tourists this summer.

Leading the list of emerging domestic destinations is Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai province), with a significant increase in searches compared to the same period last year. Its crystal-clear waters, majestic natural landscapes, colorful coral reefs, and peaceful lifestyle make Ly Son an attractive choice for travelers seeking a different experience from crowded island destinations like Phu Quoc, Phu Quy, or Vinh Hy.

Ninh Binh also recorded stable growth in search volume thanks to the combination of natural landscapes, heritage sites, and cultural tourism. Destinations such as the ancient capital of Hoa Lu and Tam Coc - Bich Dong continue to attract tourists with their distinctive limestone mountains, caves, and waterways.

Furthermore, the diverse cultural and spiritual tourism products enhance the depth of the visitor experience. The possession of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with its dense network of historical relics, makes Ninh Binh a suitable choice for journeys combining nature exploration and cultural discovery.

Mai Chau, a mountainous region in Phu Tho province, continues to maintain its appeal by meeting the demand for nature-friendly getaways while maintaining convenient transportation. It is considered a suitable option for short trips from Hanoi, as an alternative to crowded destinations like Sa Pa.

Mai Chau attracts tourists with its beautiful terraced rice fields, ethnic culture, and traditional stilt houses amidst a peaceful rural setting.

A new destination has appeared on the list: Kon Von Kle, also known as Mang Den. The inclusion of this place shows the growing appeal of highland destinations with cool climates and nature-friendly resorts.

Recently, Mang Den has become a popular choice for tourists as an alternative to the bustling city of Da Lat. The pine forests, mountainous scenery, and slow pace of life create a unique charm for this region.

According to Agoda, the appearance of Mang Den in the rankings shows that Vietnamese travelers are increasingly open to lesser-known highland destinations with fresh air and an authentic sense of discovery.

Tay Ninh is also among the popular destinations thanks to its tourism development in recent years. With its proximity to Ho Chi Minh City, the famous Ba Den Mountain spiritual tourism complex, and a comprehensively developed infrastructure, the province is attracting a large number of tourists for pilgrimage, cultural experiences, and ecotourism exploration.

Many international destinations are on the radar.

Besides focusing on domestic travel, Vietnamese tourists are also actively searching for international destinations for their mid-year holidays. According to data from Agoda, Cebu Island in the Philippines is the destination with the strongest search growth.

Cebu's appeal stems from its beautiful beaches, diving opportunities, diverse island tours, and convenient connections to many other parts of the Philippines.

Several other emerging destinations also reflect the trend of diversifying international experiences for Vietnamese tourists. Kaohsiung City (Taiwan, China) has attracted much attention thanks to its harbor atmosphere, night markets, coastal cultural attractions, and distinct character compared to Taipei.

Meanwhile, Barcelona (Spain) continues to attract tourists who appreciate architecture, Mediterranean culture, and football.

In Japan, the town of Fujikawaguchiko has become a popular choice for many travelers seeking a tranquil lakeside retreat and stunning views of Mount Fuji, rather than the bustling metropolises.

Istanbul in Türkiye is also among the destinations that Vietnamese tourists are interested in, thanks to its unique blend of history, culture, and cross-continental experiences.

According to Agoda, Türkiye's increased tourism promotion in Vietnam, along with a simplified e-visa process, is making Istanbul a more accessible destination for Vietnamese tourists recently.
