The Buddhist procession, starting from Phat An Pagoda (Phan Thiet ward), solemnly moved through central streets such as Tran Phu, Tran Hung Dao, Hai Thuong Lan Ong, and Ba Trieu before arriving at the altar to light lotus flowers on the Ca Ty River.

The most anticipated moment is the ritual of lighting and launching seven lotus flowers into the Ca Ty River. As night falls, the lotus flowers simultaneously glow, reflecting beautifully on the water's surface, creating an atmosphere that is both mystical and serene.

According to Buddhist teachings, the image of seven lotus flowers is associated with the event of the Buddha's birth in Lumbini Garden. Legend says that when Prince Siddhartha was born, he took seven steps, and under each step a golden lotus flower bloomed, symbolizing wisdom, compassion, and enlightenment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Venerable Thich Minh Nhat, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in the province, emphasized that the lotus flower has long been not only a sacred symbol of Buddhism but also a beautiful image in Vietnamese national culture.
The lotus rises from the mud but remains pure, symbolizing the will to overcome suffering in order to strive for truth, goodness, and beauty. According to the Venerable Monk, lighting seven lotus flowers on the Ca Ty River not only contributes to beautifying the urban space during the festival season but also conveys a message of peace, compassion, and a spirit of goodness to the community.

In particular, the seven lotus flowers launched onto the river in his hometown of Phan Thiet – the place where young Nguyen Tat Thanh left his footprints at Duc Thanh School in the past – also carry the meaning of commemorating the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth.

Following the lotus lighting ceremony, the Buddha procession continued across Le Hong Phong Bridge and several main roads before returning to Phat An Pagoda in a solemn and respectful atmosphere.
On the same day, at 7 PM, the traditional Buddha bathing ceremony was held at Phat An Pagoda (Phan Thiet Ward). This ritual holds sacred significance in the Buddha's Birthday celebration, expressing reverence for the Buddha and reminding everyone to strive for a peaceful and virtuous life.
