Each contact in your address book has an " Add Birthday" option, which is the most important requirement for setting birthday reminders on an iPhone. To add a contact, go to the contact's name, select " Edit ," and scroll down until you find this option.
After completing this step, the following steps will help enable the birthday reminder feature (for contacts saved in your phone's address book) so that users don't forget or miss important events of friends and family.
Turn on notifications for the Calendar app on your iPhone.
First, enable the Calendar app on your device to send notifications by going to Settings > Notifications > Calendar and toggling the Allow Notification switch to On . The switch will then turn green, indicating successful activation.
If you don't see the Calendar section in the Notifications settings as instructed above, it's likely the Calendar app never requested to send notifications to the user. The main reason for this is usually that the user has never opened the default Calendar app on their phone. Therefore, to display notifications, the user only needs to access the program at least once and can then close the application immediately.
The following steps should be followed sequentially as instructed below:
Access the Calendar app settings in your iPhone's Settings.
In Calendar, you'll find the Default Alert Times section. Clicking on it will display a list including Birthdays, Events, and All-day Events.
In the Birthday section, after selecting a date, you'll have the option to allow the Calendar app to send notifications for upcoming birthdays. Users can customize this to their liking, for example, a notification at 9 AM on the birthday, or 1-2 days before, or even a week in advance.
After completing the setup steps, users can exit the application. As someone's birthday approaches in their contacts, the system will display a notification at a pre-set time. The display of the notification depends on how the device owner allows the device to display content, such as on the lock screen, in the Notification Center, or as a pop-up window on the screen.
