Ingredients: 910 grams of thick, boneless beef short ribs; 10 cloves of garlic; 3 tablespoons brown sugar; 5 tablespoons soy sauce; 2 tablespoons oyster sauce; 1 tablespoon fish sauce; 1 tablespoon granulated sugar; 2 tablespoons white vinegar; 2 tablespoons water; 1 red onion; 2 bunches of watercress; 3 tomatoes; 2 tablespoons vegetable oil; black pepper.
Instruct:
- Finely chop the garlic and slice the onion. Cut the beef into small, bite-sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine the beef with garlic, brown sugar, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the beef, then marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix together granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, white vinegar, and water. Add the red onion slices to the mixture to marinate.
- Wash and slice the tomatoes. Then arrange the watercress and tomatoes nicely on a plate.
- Heat a pan over high heat, then add vegetable oil. When the oil starts to heat up, swirl the pan to coat the bottom evenly. Add half of the beef and stir, shaking the pan, until the meat is slightly browned and cooked through (3-5 minutes). Set the meat aside and repeat with the remaining beef.
Arrange the beef slices on top of the prepared watercress and tomatoes. Garnish with fresh cilantro and pickled red onions. Add some hot rice and it's the perfect meal for your family.
