The Cambodian Ministry of Tourism has once again affirmed that the country is a "safe, secure and stable tourist destination" for both domestic and international visitors, according to Cambodia's official news agency.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, recent travel advisories issued by some foreign embassies may have misled the public and tourists, especially international visitors, about the overall safety picture of tourism in Cambodia.
"Key tourist destinations, including Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Preah Sihanoukville, and many others, remain operational and fully open to welcome visitors, with safety and security conditions fully ensured," the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism stated.
The agency emphasized its readiness to cooperate and provide relevant tourism information and factual updates. The goal is to ensure that information is disseminated accurately and in a balanced manner, supporting international tourists in making informed decisions when planning a safe trip to Cambodia.
Cambodia aims to protect its reputation as a safe and attractive destination for global travelers.

According to Travel And Tour World , analysts believe this message aims to bolster tourist confidence, thereby affirming that Cambodia continues to be a suitable destination for various types of tourism, from cultural and heritage sightseeing to relaxation.
According to a report released by the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism at the end of December 2025, the country welcomed a total of 5.17 million international tourists in the first 11 months of 2025, a decrease of 13.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to Khmer Times , during the period from January to November, Vietnam was the largest source market for international tourists to Cambodia, followed by China and Thailand.
The overall decline in international visitor numbers reflects the slowdown in the regional economy , as well as increasing competition from neighboring destinations.

Tourism is currently one of the four main pillars of the Cambodian economy, alongside the export of garments, footwear and tourism products, agriculture , and construction and real estate.
Despite escalating tensions along the Thailand-Cambodia border and negative reports regarding scams and human trafficking, many international travel experts believe that Cambodia remains generally safe for tourists, provided they travel to the right areas, follow the right routes, and adhere to official advisories.
Overall, the risks in Cambodia are not widespread across the entire territory, but are mainly concentrated along the northern and western borders with Thailand. Meanwhile, major tourist centers in the central region such as Phnom Penh and Siem Reap continue to operate as usual.
Experts believe that the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism's reaffirmation of safety and stability could have a positive impact on the tourism industry. Accordingly, travel agencies, tour operators, and online booking platforms can continue to promote major destinations with greater confidence.
International tourists are expected to resume their plans to visit Cambodia, contributing to the recovery of visitor numbers that were affected by inaccurate perceptions.
Local businesses, hotels, resorts, and service providers are expected to benefit from a steady stream of revenue, thereby supporting jobs and economic growth.
