This is one of the proposals recently put forward by the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Da Nang City Party Committee to ensure double-digit growth targets are met in 2026.
According to this unit, after the merger, Da Nang has the opportunity to become a major tourism center in the Asian region. The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed solutions to improve tourism infrastructure and develop new tourism products as soon as possible.
The proposal includes directing the city to accelerate the expansion of terminals T1 and T2 at Da Nang International Airport, attracting investment in the Tien Sa commercial, service, tourism complex and marina, and the Tho Quang marina service area.
Simultaneously, accelerate the upgrading of Road 14G to connect Da Nang and southern Laos via the Dak Oc border gate, and the roads connecting eco-tourism, community, and indigenous cultural destinations in the western part of the city. Complete the resolution of obstacles related to tourism projects on the Son Tra peninsula.

In addition, this unit also proposed the early commencement of major, large-scale key projects to create momentum.
Specifically, projects such as the Ngu Hanh Son historical and cultural park, the international fireworks complex, and the central square; investment in improving the landscape of the two coastal roads and the landscape on both sides of the Han River… aim to quickly create new tourism products and increase the attractiveness of the destination to attract more visitors.
Notably, regarding planning, the Da Nang City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism believes that the city needs to develop a master plan for the major tourist destination of Hoi An (including the wards of Hoi An, Hoi An Dong, and Hoi An Tay) and connect and expand the space to neighboring areas.
This also includes regulations for managing and controlling the core and buffer zones, avoiding creating excessive pressure on the central area.
The former city of Hoi An has now been divided into four communes.
In addition to Tan Hiep island commune (Cu Lao Cham), the central area of Hoi An is divided into three wards: Hoi An, Hoi An Dong, and Hoi An Tay. Before the division was implemented, many concerns were raised about its potential impact on the heritage space of the ancient town.
Da Nang opens many new flight routes.
According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first quarter of 2026, the city promoted the opening of new routes between Bali (Indonesia) and Da Nang, Manila (Philippines) and Da Nang, restored the Vientiane (Laos) - Da Nang route, and added the Phu Quoc - Da Nang route operated by Sun Phu Quoc Airway. To date, there are a total of 27 routes to Da Nang, including 7 domestic routes and 20 regular international routes.
The total number of flights to Da Nang reached over 13,300, an increase of 19%, with an estimated average frequency of 148 flights per day. It is expected that from April to October, there will be additional flights from Russia and other countries, with a frequency of approximately 70 flights per month.
