Two large potholes have appeared at the intersection of Phan Boi Chau Street and National Highway 14, posing a high risk of accidents.
Specifically, at the intersection of National Highway 14 and Phan Boi Chau Street in Tan Binh Ward, Dong Xoai City, two large potholes have appeared side-by-side. Each pothole measures approximately 1 square meter, with some areas nearly 20 centimeters deep. Whenever it rains heavily, the potholes fill with water, making them difficult for drivers to spot and avoid, easily leading to accidents. Even on sunny days, the water doesn't drain, and every time vehicles pass over them, water splashes everywhere, creating both a hazard and an unsightly scene. Notably, this is the turn-off to the entrances of Dong Xoai High School and Tan Binh B Primary School, resulting in numerous student injuries from falls.
The traffic light area at the intersection of Nguyen Chanh Street and National Highway 14 also has many dangerous potholes. The road surface on the left side in the direction of Chon Thanh - Dong Xoai has subsided, creating many bumps. Vehicles hitting these bumps could easily lose control and cause accidents.
Another problem that has persisted on National Highway 14 recently, drawing numerous complaints from voters, concerns road markings. Besides many sections with faded markings, there are also many locations where lane markings coexist, making it difficult for drivers to determine which markings are valid. Many believe that these road marking inadequacies risk collisions between vehicles. Furthermore, if an accident occurs, it will make it difficult to determine fault. It is hoped that the relevant authorities will promptly address these issues to reduce traffic accidents.
