At Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), DOJI Group, and PNJ, the price of gold bars is listed at 94.3 million VND/ounce (buying price) and 95.8 million VND/ounce (selling price). The price of gold increased by 1.4 million VND/ounce in both buying and selling prices compared to the close of yesterday's trading session.

At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the buying price of SJC gold is 94.8 million VND/ounce and the selling price is 96 million VND/ounce. Thus, compared to yesterday's session, the selling price of gold decreased by 200,000 VND/ounce and remained unchanged in the buying price.

Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd. listed the price of SJC gold at 94.4 million VND/ounce (buying price) and 95.8 million VND/ounce (selling price). This price increased by 1.4 million VND/ounce in both buying and selling compared to yesterday.

Bao Tin Manh Hai Co., Ltd. listed the price of SJC gold at 84.4 million VND/ounce (buying price) and 86.4 million VND/ounce (selling price). This price remained unchanged in both buying and selling directions compared to the close of yesterday's trading session.

The selling price of gold rings at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company increased by 1.5 million VND/ounce, reaching a historical peak of 96.5 million VND/ounce. Thus, in just two days, the selling price of gold rings at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company has increased by 2.5 million VND/ounce.

According to Kitco, the spot price of gold in the world market at 4:00 AM Vietnam time today was $2,984.56 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.25% compared to yesterday. Converted using the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,726 VND/USD), the world gold price is approximately 92.5 million VND/ounce (excluding taxes and fees). Therefore, the price of SJC gold bars is currently 3.3 million VND/ounce higher than the international gold price.

According to Reuters, spot gold prices hit a record high of $3,004.86 per ounce on Thursday, marking the 13th peak in 2025. Prices have risen 14% this year, after soaring 27% in 2024.

Suki Cooper, an analyst at Standard Chartered, said: "With central banks continuing to buy, there are many factors driving demand. Amid geopolitical uncertainty and ongoing tariff shifts, demand for gold remains strong."

Since the administration of US President Donald Trump began, protectionist policies have shaken global markets, with his tariffs provoking swift retaliation from China and Canada.

John Ciampaglia, CEO of Sprott Asset Management, said: "With the stock market sell-off and unpredictable political risks, we are beginning to see a return of Western investors to gold, which could push prices much higher." "We view gold as an 'insurance policy' and a source of liquidity in a challenging market environment."

Tariffs are fueling concerns about inflation and trade tensions, prompting investors to seek refuge in gold as a safe haven.

Meanwhile, gold holdings in COMEX-approved vaults reached a record 40.56 million ounces, as traders flocked in amid tariff uncertainty. However, inflows have slowed in recent weeks.

Investor demand for gold is soaring, with physical gold-backed ETFs (exchange-traded funds) recording their largest weekly inflows since March 2022, according to February data from the World Gold Council.

The SPDR Gold Trust (GLD), the world's largest gold-backed ETF, saw its holdings rise to 907.82 tonnes on February 25, its highest level since August 2023.

Dina Ting, Head of Global Index Portfolio Management at Franklin Templeton, said: "There is likely to be more money flowing into safe-haven assets like gold, especially as investors move away from growth stocks amid rising uncertainty and concerns about the future." She noted that while investment strategies vary, allocating 5% to 10% to gold could provide effective diversification.
