Opening Ceremony of the Da Nang Food Tour Festival 2026

DNO - On the evening of May 21st, the Da Nang Food Tour 2026 officially opened at the East Sea Park (An Hai Ward). The event is expected to create a new milestone for the city's tourism industry through promoting local culture and identity via the language of cuisine.

Attending the event were Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City; Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City; Doan Xuan Hieu, Director of Da Nang Newspaper, Radio and Television; and representatives from the consulates of Russia, Laos, and Spain in Da Nang.

Taking place from May 20th to 24th, 2026 at East Sea Park, Tam Thanh Beach Square, and many other locations throughout the city, this year's Food Tour Festival is organized as a multi-sensory experience, combining cuisine , art, culture, and technology, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere for locals and tourists.

The highlight of the opening night was an elaborately staged artistic program with a modern theatrical language, combining music , lighting, artistic performances, and culinary demonstrations.

From rustic country kitchens and street vendors evoking memories of old city life to the vibrant rhythm of modern coastal cities, the entire program emotionally recreates the formation and development of Quang Nam's culinary culture.

In her opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that cuisine is not just food to enjoy, but also a place to preserve the memories, culture, and soul of the land.

In Da Nang city, every flavor carries a story about the honest and warm-hearted people of Central Vietnam; about traditional craft villages, fishing trips; and about the simple street vendors that have become a part of the memories of generations.

“The Da Nang City People's Committee hopes to make the Da Nang Food Tour 2026 a distinctive tourism product, a new ‘cultural ambassador’ of Da Nang in its journey of integration and development. We hope that every citizen and tourist who comes to the festival will not only enjoy delicious food, but also feel the rhythm of life, the spirit, and the very unique identity of the coastal city of Da Nang,” said Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi.

They also stated that this year's festival is a concrete step in the strategy of building Da Nang into a leading destination for festivals, events, and cuisine in the Asian region. Through this, it continues to offer locals and tourists new, modern, and emotionally enriching experiences.

Within the framework of the festival, many unique cultural and culinary activities also took place, such as "Da Nang Flavors" - a place where the culinary essence of Quang Nam, Vietnam and international cuisine converged.

The "Essence of Quang Nam Cuisine" experience space brings together more than 200 stalls offering local, regional, and international cuisine; where visitors can not only enjoy the food but also directly participate in cooking, explore traditional crafts, immerse themselves in folk games, and engage in a series of multi-sensory interactive activities.

In addition, visitors can freely check in at the "Colors of Quang Nam" space with a series of large-scale scenes inspired by life in Central Vietnam such as: basket boats, Quang Nam kitchens, street vendors, seaside streets... recreated with modern installation art and lighting technology, creating impressive visual touchpoints for tourists and young people.

Visitors will also be thrilled with Beer Fest Night on the evening of May 23rd at Bien Dong Park, featuring music, interactive games, and over 5,000 diverse Food & Beer combos. Especially noteworthy is the multi-sensory ShopeeFood Concert on the evening of May 24th, featuring many popular artists such as Noo Phuoc Thinh, Karik, Trong Hieu, Orange, DJ Mie, Kimmese… promising to be a spectacular highlight of this year's festival.

The festival space has also been expanded to many localities with a series of activities each with its own unique character, such as: the Seafood Culinary Festival (taking place on the evening of May 22nd - 24th, 2026) at Tam Thanh Beach Square; the Hoi An Dong Traditional Cake Festival (May 23rd) at Cam Chau Market...
