"Touchpoints" connect destinations.

Cuisine is one of the main pillars of tourism, alongside accommodation, sightseeing, and experiences. In Da Nang, tourism products based on cuisine have been and are being developed by various units and localities, attracting tourists and connecting the destination on the tourism map.

"Touchpoints" on the travel journey

Visiting Leaf Village & Farm (Hai Van Ward) on a weekend, Ms. Duong Quynh Tran's family (tourists from Quang Ngai) participated in many activities: sightseeing and taking photos in the flower garden; relaxing; enjoying the cultural and artistic space reflecting the unique Co Tu culture; staying in bungalows… and especially exploring local cuisine .

Here, visitors can experience making traditional cakes, from kneading dough and wrapping to steaming, under the guidance of skilled artisans. Alongside this is a local market showcasing exquisite products from the mountains, such as forest honey, dried bamboo shoots, Siamese chili peppers, rice wine, and fresh, clean vegetables grown by the local people, as well as an on-site food court offering many specialties of the Co Tu ethnic group.

"Enjoying hot steamed rice cakes, fragrant buffalo horn-shaped cakes amidst the romantic setting of the Cu De River is a memorable experience," Ms. Tran shared.

In Hoi An Dong ward, tours to the Bay Mau coconut forest or Thanh Dong vegetable garden, combined with culinary experiences, are being developed jointly by tourism businesses and local people. Xứ Quảng Xanh Tourism and Service Co., Ltd. is currently implementing a model of "Experiencing local culture in the Bay Mau coconut forest combined with storytelling about history, the lives of residents, and the cuisine of Quang Nam." Along with appreciating the beauty of the Quang Nam countryside, visitors can also enjoy local cuisine. In particular, the story of Quang Nam noodles in a clay pot is a highlight, with a bowl of noodles featuring Quang Nam's specialties: authentic Quang Nam noodles from Phu Chiem, fresh shrimp from Cam Thanh, vegetables from Tra Que, clay pots from Thanh Ha pottery village, wooden chopsticks from Kim Bong carpentry village, Hoi An chili sauce, and more.

Meanwhile, the Thanh Dong Organic Vegetable and Tourism Cooperative attracts tourists by providing clean agricultural products and collaborating with travel agencies and schools to organize experiential tours, career guidance, and organic food tasting at the Thanh Dong vegetable garden, as well as basket boat rides in the coconut forest.

Culinary experiences are also being integrated into tours by many travel agencies. Mr. Dinh Van Loc, Director of Viet Da Tourism Joint Stock Company, said: “ Da Nang has a diverse local culinary system with many famous dishes such as Quang noodles, pork rice paper rolls, Cao Lau, fish cake noodle soup, chicken rice… For tours to Da Nang with Vietnamese tourists, we always let them experience these specialties.”

"Returning to the original essence" with Quang Nam cuisine.

During the 2026 summer tourist season, Da Nang will organize the Da Nang Food Tour 2026 from May 20-24 at the East Sea Park, Tam Thanh Beach Square, and several other locations in the city. In addition, festival activities during the peak summer tourist season and food tour programs connecting destinations throughout the city will be implemented from now until the end of December 2026.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Da Nang Food Tour 2026 will open up a unique culinary, cultural, and tourism experience, where the story of the people, land, and identity of Quang Nam is expressed in a modern, vibrant language, awakening all the senses of visitors. This is also the direction of "Returning to the Original" that the city's tourism industry is aiming for.

Besides experiencing the cuisine at festivals, tourists will enjoy tasting local specialties directly in the area, for example, eating Quang noodles in Tuy Loan (Hoa Vang commune), eating roasted veal in Cau Mong (Dien Ban ward), or eating Cao Lau in Hoi An ancient town… Travel companies have capitalized on this to arrange tour programs that create diverse experiences for tourists.

According to Mr. Le Tan Thanh Tung, Deputy General Director of VITRACO Tourism, Transportation and Events Company: "When combined with food festivals, the image and brand of the dishes will be more deeply ingrained in the minds of tourists, thereby making the promotion and introduction of tourism products much more effective."

From a tourism perspective, Mr. Tung believes that, thanks to the spread of the Da Nang Food Tour, Da Nang's cuisine will no longer be limited to the local area but will have an exchange with international cuisine. Therefore, adding and diversifying international culinary spaces, for example, a Halal food area for Muslims... This will enhance the experience for tourists, especially foreign tourists - who tend to choose dishes that suit their taste or beliefs - while also meeting the diverse needs of various international visitors when they come to Da Nang.
