The Indian couple invited 350 guests, booked an entire resort for 4 days in the most expensive area of Phu Quoc, and added to the hope that the pearl island would become a destination for super weddings.

Responding to VnExpress , a Sun World representative said the Indian couple's wedding was held from January 20 to January 23 in the Sunset Town area with 350 guests attending, all of whom were upper class.

The couple booked the entire 5-star resort in the south of the island for the four days of their wedding. The resort has 234 rooms, suites and villas, the most expensive being a 7-bedroom villa, priced at around VND200 million ($8,800) per night. In 2019, the venue was booked for a mega wedding by a couple also from India.

The bride and groom decided to choose this resort as their wedding venue about 6 months ago. They flew to Vietnam 4 times to check out the location and evaluate the quality of service.

The resort was chosen because it has successfully organized many weddings for Indian couples. They have their own team with skills and knowledge to create a unique experience for guests staying or organizing weddings, especially how to build a diverse Indian menu. In addition, the location and architecture of the resort are also factors that make Indian guests love it.

Sun World representative assessed that Phu Quoc is becoming the top destination for Indian super weddings thanks to its pristine beauty and world- class service, gradually replacing traditional destinations such as Bali or Phuket.

Regarding the wedding, the organizers said that the Sangeet ceremony (bachelor ceremony) with close friends of the bride and groom will be held on the evening of January 21, at the Grand Ballroom of the "art museum" Sun Signature Gallery, located in the center of Sunset Town. The wedding ceremony will take place on January 22. In the morning, the couple will hold the Haldi ceremony, the first traditional ceremony in an Indian wedding, at the resort they have booked. Next, they will hold a Baraat procession from the resort to the wedding venue in Sunset Town in a luxury car.

The wedding venue is the Kiss Of The Sea stage complex with a multi-experience show combining fire, water, and lasers. According to the organizers, the main ceremony will also have a spectacular fireworks display.

The theme of the wedding has both Indian and Vietnamese cultural features, expressed through the details of 7 giant red and gold chairs representing Indian nobility and lotus flowers floating on the water - representing Vietnamese culture. The official wedding ceremony coincided with the most beautiful sunset moment of the day in Phu Quoc.

To prepare for the all-night feast, the couple brought dozens of professional chefs from India to Phu Quoc and combined them with the resort’s international chefs. The menu at the party will include dishes from diverse cultures such as Thai, Vietnamese, French, Mediterranean and Indian.

Phu Quoc tourism in 2023 is not very promising as the total number of visitors during major holidays is lower than the same period last year. Since the end of last year, authorities and businesses on the pearl island have been trying to find ways to recover, such as coordinating between units, reducing airfares, organizing international events and targeting potential customer groups, including Indian visitors.
