Coming from a farming family facing hardship in Nguyen Giap commune, Hai Phong city, brothers Duc and Hau developed a strong sense of self-reliance from a young age and quickly adapted to the military environment, becoming shining examples in their platoon and company. In particular, recently, when the unit organized live-fire exercises for new recruits in various positions (prone, kneeling, standing) and combined shooting in three positions, both Duc and Hau achieved excellent scores.

Due to their impressive performance in shooting tests, Duc and Hau were nicknamed "the twin sharpshooters" by their unit commander and comrades. This is a well-deserved reward for the two brothers after days of enduring the sun and rain on the training ground. Soldier Pham Quang Hau shared: "I'm luckier than my comrades because my older brother enlisted with me, so I felt less homesick in the first few days at the unit. Being assigned to the same squad helps us to be close, encourage, and support each other in our studies and work."

Not only do they have impressive achievements in training, Pham Quang Duc and Pham Quang Hau are also very active in cultural, artistic, and sports activities. In particular, with their outstanding volleyball talent and having participated in many local volleyball tournaments, Duc and Hau are core members of the company and battalion's volleyball team whenever the unit organizes friendly matches or competitions.

Commenting on Duc and Hau, Senior Lieutenant Le Hong Son, Political Officer of Company 1, said: “Duc and Hau have good discipline, a high sense of responsibility, and are always proactive and self-motivated in their studies and training. In their daily lives, Duc and Hau are very sociable and often help their comrades, earning everyone's affection. The unit commander also regularly encourages and supports them so that the two brothers can continue to progress and mature in the future.”
