A propaganda message was "softened" through theatrical performances at the 892nd Regiment. |
For young soldiers today, given the immense impact of social life and the internet, receiving information in a "one-way" manner cannot yield optimal results. Recognizing this, Regiment 892 has boldly innovated, focusing on "theatrical presentation" to stimulate interest. Numbers and legal provisions, which are often difficult to remember, are cleverly integrated into real-life situations on stage, helping soldiers not only "hear" but also "feel" and "understand."
In the young propagandist competition, the teams demonstrated great creativity by combining oral presentation methods with visual aids. Hot topics such as the Military Service Law, traffic safety regulations, and the ethics and lifestyle of soldiers were concretized through real-life stories from their units. Instead of discussing the harmful effects of disciplinary violations in a general way, the contestants recreated the concerns and valuable lessons through psychological skits, prompting viewers to reflect on their own actions. Lieutenant Nguyen Viet Lam, Deputy Political Officer of Company 4, Battalion 512, Regiment 892, shared: “The challenge for those working in the Youth Union is ensuring that members and young people don't feel forced during the learning process. When we transform lectures into a lively play or video clip, the soldiers receive the information with curiosity and enthusiasm. That's the golden moment for legal messages to be remembered most naturally.”
The competition not only served to educate soldiers but also as a comprehensive assessment of the Youth Union's cadres. The three parts of the competition – propagandist, knowledge, and skills – were designed to ensure that cadres were not only proficient in theory but also skilled in practice.
In the knowledge test section, the contestants' meticulous preparation demonstrated a solid ideological foundation. Core content on Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought was closely integrated with the latest policies of the Party, State, and Army. In particular, the contestants deeply analyzed the viewpoints on "2 steadfast, 2 strong, 2 preventative," "5 firm" of General Secretary and President To Lam, and the content of "2 shocks, 2 readiness," linking them to the practical tasks at Regiment 892. Major Nguyen Kim Thanh, Political Officer of Battalion 512, affirmed: "The competition is a practical playground. Through handling unexpected situations on stage, the Youth Union officers honed their sharp thinking, language skills, and especially their ability to guide ideology. These are indispensable qualities for understanding and resolving the psychological developments of soldiers in the new situation."
One of the notable new features of this year's competition is the inclusion of the topic "combating false viewpoints on the internet" in the official competition sections. This is a crucial issue as hostile forces are thoroughly exploiting the internet to undermine the ideology of the armed forces. Through presentations and self-produced video clips, young propagandists exposed the sophisticated tactics of cybercriminals and reactionary organizations. Specific guidance on safe social media use and how to identify fake news equipped the soldiers with an effective ideological "filter." This shows that propaganda work at Regiment 892 has kept pace with the digital age, no longer confined within the four walls of the classroom.
Commenting on the success of the competition, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hoa, Political Commissar of Regiment 892, emphasized that this is part of the measures to build a comprehensively strong unit that is "exemplary and outstanding." "The innovation in education towards visual and relatable approaches not only helps officers and soldiers improve their awareness but also fosters pride and responsibility towards the military. When each soldier is a self-proclaimed propagandist, understanding the law and upholding the rule of law, the unit will form a unified and solid force in the face of all challenges," Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hoa affirmed.
In practice, the "Theatricalization" and "Youth Forum" models at Regiment 892 have proven to be highly effective: simultaneously enhancing the cultural and spiritual life of the soldiers and tightening military discipline. These models have truly become an effective bridge, transforming dry legal documents into a vibrant part of soldiers' lives, contributing to the comprehensive training of soldiers and serving as a crucial foundation for successfully undertaking and completing all assigned tasks.
