Ms. Ha Thi Khoa, residing in Ban Co village, Kien Moc commune, is in extremely difficult circumstances. Her family is classified as near-poor; Ms. Khoa suffers from mental illness and is pregnant alone. On the day she was admitted to the hospital to await childbirth, only her father was by her side, silently accompanying her with anxiety. Meanwhile, her near-poor health insurance card had just expired, and the renewal procedures were not yet complete. Furthermore, her health condition and mental illness forced doctors to recommend a cesarean section to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.
Given the patient's difficult circumstances, the Provincial General Hospital appealed to agencies, organizations, philanthropists, and the community to support the surgical and treatment costs for Ms. Khoa. Just over 3 hours after posting the information, the hospital received support from numerous benefactors, with nearly 60 million VND donated.
Not only the above case, but through the connections of the Provincial General Hospital, many patients in difficult circumstances have received timely support from philanthropists. Among them is Ms. Hoang Thi Hong (Binh Gia commune), who suffers from a serious illness, lacks health insurance, and is in particularly difficult circumstances. In May 2025, Ms. Hong was hospitalized but lacked the funds for treatment. Thanks to the hospital's appeal for support, Ms. Hong received over 70 million VND from philanthropists. Ms. Hong emotionally shared: "Thanks to the care of the doctors, the hospital, and philanthropists, I have the opportunity to receive treatment. This help is a great source of encouragement, both materially and spiritually, giving me more faith to overcome my illness."
In addition to the two cases mentioned above, in 2025, the Provincial General Hospital supported 35 patients in difficult circumstances through various forms of fee waivers and reductions, assistance with living expenses, food, and transportation costs. Simultaneously, it appealed to the community for help for 5 seriously ill patients in particularly difficult circumstances, raising a total of over 300 million VND.
Dr. Dang Huy Du, Deputy Director of the Provincial General Hospital, said: The hospital always directs departments and wards to proactively understand the circumstances of each patient, promptly advise and guide them on procedures related to health insurance and policies, while supporting patients and their families to stabilize their mental state and feel secure during treatment. For particularly difficult cases, the hospital develops appropriate support plans to ensure that patients do not experience interruptions in treatment due to lack of funds.
According to Dr. Du, the hospital has been actively appealing to agencies, organizations, and philanthropists for donations in cash or via bank transfer to the hospital's account. On average, each fundraising campaign receives between 50 and 100 million VND per case. All donations are publicly disclosed and fully documented, ensuring transparency and targeting the right recipients, thereby building trust and long-term support from the community.
Furthermore, the Provincial General Hospital has effectively played the role of a compassionate "bridge," connecting sponsors, charitable organizations, and benevolent individuals with patients in difficult circumstances. In 2025, the hospital coordinated the provision of free haircuts for over 500 patients; maintained the "Free Clothing Closet" model, supporting over 1,000 patients and their families; collaborated with charitable groups to distribute over 13,000 free meals, 3,000 free bowls of porridge, and 3,500 free cakes and milk; and mobilized donations of over 400 Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts (worth over 273 million VND) and 545 gifts for Children's Day and Mid-Autumn Festival (worth over 200 million VND) for patients and pediatric patients undergoing treatment.
Through practical acts of sharing and compassion, the Provincial General Hospital is increasingly affirming its role as a pillar of support for patients in difficult circumstances. The joint efforts of doctors, medical staff, agencies, units, and the community not only help many patients overcome challenging treatment periods but also spread profound humanitarian values, contributing to ensuring social welfare and sustainable healthcare for the people.
