A prime example is the infrastructure development in Trinh Tuong residential cluster, Bac Cuong village (Hoanh Mo commune), a border area that previously lacked electricity, clean water, and had poor transportation access. In 2023, the Provincial Veterans Association provided nearly 3.9 billion VND and hundreds of man-days of labor to build a comprehensive electricity system, roads, clean water supply facilities, a cultural center, and repair 13 houses for the residents. After nearly three years of operation, these projects have proven effective, creating favorable conditions for production, daily life, and improving the quality of life. According to Mr. Chiu Chan An, Party Secretary and Head of Bac Cuong village, the completion of essential infrastructure has significantly improved the material and spiritual lives of the people in Trinh Tuong.

Over the past period, many social welfare projects have been implemented in the province, such as: supporting the construction of 120 standard sanitation facilities in the former Binh Lieu district; renovating the electricity system to serve the people of the Co To special zone; building two pedestrian bridges in the former Hai Ha district; supporting the construction of solidarity houses and many other public works in particularly difficult areas.
Along with infrastructure investment, the welfare of its members has always been a priority for all levels of the Veterans Association. From 2022 to the present, the province has built nearly 70 new houses and renovated 15 houses for disadvantaged veterans, with a total cost of nearly 5 billion VND. In 2025 alone, the Provincial Veterans Association will support the construction of 17 new houses, with a support level of 80 million VND per house, helping many families stabilize their lives.
One of the most impactful movements is the "Lighting Up Rural Roads" program. Tens of thousands of streetlights have been installed along rural roads, in residential areas, schools, and cultural centers, contributing to ensuring security and order and improving the quality of life for the people. In the first six months of 2026, local associations installed and repaired 115 streetlights; and supported the implementation of power lines in Hamlet 3, Co To Special Zone, and Cai Chien Island Commune with a total budget of over 200 million VND. These illuminated roads not only facilitate transportation but also strengthen community cohesion.
Upholding a spirit of social responsibility, veterans' association members throughout the province actively participate in building new rural areas, urban beautification, and environmental protection. In the first six months of 2026, the associations at all levels donated nearly 14,000 m² of land, contributed over 3.2 billion VND and more than 5,200 man-days of labor to build public works; renovated, upgraded, and repaired over 42 km of rural roads and over 42 km of irrigation canals; built and renovated 4 houses for war veterans; and planted 20,000 new trees.

Besides focusing on immediate needs, the Provincial Veterans Association also pays special attention to supporting its members in developing their economy and increasing their income. In the first six months of 2026, the association at all levels coordinated the organization of 69 training courses on agricultural, forestry, and fisheries extension, environmental protection, loan skills, and production development for 3,723 cadres and members. At the same time, the Association effectively collaborated with the Provincial Social Policy Bank to implement 20 preferential credit programs. By the end of April 2026, the total outstanding entrusted loans managed by the Association reached VND 619.5 billion, an increase of VND 27.7 billion compared to the beginning of the year; managing 219 savings and loan groups with 7,466 members and people participating. Policy capital has become an important driving force helping many members expand production, create jobs, and improve their living standards.
Thanks to comprehensive solutions, the entire province now has no poor veteran households; the number of near-poor households has decreased to 36. The province has 717 members who achieved the title of excellent producers and businesspeople at various levels in 2025, including 23 members who achieved the title at the central level. The number of well-off and wealthy households reached 31,258, accounting for 58.42% of the total number of members; the situation of temporary and dilapidated houses among members has been basically eliminated.
In addition, the Provincial Veterans Association effectively maintains 260 self-governing environmental protection clubs, groups, and teams with over 6,100 members; and has developed many models of "Bright roads, bright alleys, safe traffic," and "Model roads" associated with the criteria of "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe." The Association also actively carries out humanitarian activities such as sponsoring students in difficult circumstances, awarding scholarships, providing free medical examinations and medicine, and caring for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers...
