'Touch' to experience and create

Amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, many young people choose to participate in "Chạm Workshop" to learn about and experience activities such as resin painting, diorama making, crafting teddy bear keychains, or decorating conical hats according to themes, as a way to find balance in their lives.

Thu Ha introduces resin paintings.

“Touch Workshop” is a project conceived and implemented by Huynh Thi Thu Ha (born in 1999, residing in Binh Minh Ward, Tay Ninh Province), hoping to provide everyone with a creative playground through handicraft activities with the goal of “Creating something different with your own hands”.

For Thu Ha, "Touch" means touching to understand, to know, and to appreciate the works she creates. At the "Touch Workshop," people are not limited by skill or artistic knowledge; they can create products with their own unique touch, inventing unique gifts for themselves and their loved ones.

"Touch" to understand, to know, and to appreciate the work you create.

Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Ha shared: “I work in the finance industry in Ho Chi Minh City, and my daily work often involves dealing with numbers. After a stressful workday, I always look for an activity to help me relax and unwind. After researching, learning, and having new experiences participating in handicraft workshops, I hope to share these interesting things with young people in Tay Ninh.”

In the workshop, participants can choose activities such as resin painting, diorama painting, making teddy bear keychains, or painting conical hats. The special feature of resin painting is the use of resin glue, acrylic paint, and other materials (stone, plaster, sand, pebbles) to create a unique handcrafted painting with diverse themes such as the country, the ocean, natural landscapes, etc.

Dioramas, on the other hand, are miniature models of landscapes, created using various materials to produce a vibrant and artistic 3D scene. Instead of following fixed templates, participants in resin painting or dioramas can choose their own images and color combinations to recreate majestic natural landscapes in their own unique way.

With dioramas, the creator can freely express their creativity in their own way.

"To provide everyone with new, effective, and high-quality painting experiences, I learn from those who came before me, constantly experiment, and refine my methods to be concise, easy to understand, yet still ensure aesthetic appeal and product quality," Thu Ha shared.

In just three hours, everyone worked together to create paintings depicting the endless sandy shores, beaches with crashing white waves, moss-covered rocks, and even the green bushes and trees on the island.

Nguyen Huynh Nhu (born in 1999, residing in Tan Ninh ward, Tay Ninh province) excitedly said: “I accidentally saw a post online and was very interested in resin painting. This is a pretty effective way to relieve stress and relax on weekends.”

Ms. Nguyen Thai Huyen Linh (born in 1992, residing in Long Hoa ward, Tay Ninh province) brought her 7-year-old daughter to participate in the diorama-making activity. Initially, the little girl was a bit worried, fearing she wasn't skillful enough, but after receiving guidance, she completed her artwork very well.

Ms. Huyen Linh shared: “I create opportunities for my daughter to participate in workshops on balloon sculpting, pottery, and this time, diorama making. Through these activities, I hope she can unleash her creativity, express her personality, and develop comprehensively.”

Making teddy bear keychains at the "Chạm workshop"

Thu Ha added: “With the goal of sharing interesting and new things, the price to participate in the craft activities at “Chạm workshop” will not be too high to be accessible to students, families with young children, and everyone else. All the paintings, paints, and decorative accessories are prepared and guided by us. Participants only need to prepare a relaxed spirit to create artistic works to take home.”

Besides resin painting or dioramas, many young people also enjoy making teddy bear keychains – an experience that seems simple but brings many emotions. They carefully sew each stitch to create a teddy bear keychain with their own unique touch.

Truong Ngo Phuong Thanh (born in 2007, residing in Long Hoa ward) excitedly said: “The feeling of creating a keepsake with my own hands is truly unique. It's not just a product, but also a healing process.”

"Touch Workshop" offers new and exciting experiences.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, Huynh Thi Thu Ha also organized activities such as decorating conical hats with themes of homeland and country, and creating resin paintings of the map of Vietnam, hoping to contribute to spreading patriotism among students.

“I am trying to maintain weekly Sunday workshops in Tay Ninh and expand to include more craft activities with themes related to national events and holidays. I hope that ‘Touch Workshop’ will not only be an activity but will gradually become a place where each person can rediscover themselves through every brushstroke, needlework, and color – a place where emotions are healed by creativity,” Thu Ha shared.
