Practical care for workers

Comrade Truong Thanh Hoa, Chairman of Chau Thanh District Labor Federation visited and gave support to workers who had work accidents.

Right from the first quarter of 2025, under the direction of the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor and the Standing Committee of Chau Thanh District Party Committee, the work of representing and caring for the material and spiritual life of workers has been focused on.

During the recent Lunar New Year 2025, the District Labor Federation reviewed and proposed the Provincial Labor Federation to present 25 gifts from the Government, with a budget of 32.5 million VND; at the same time, support 67 cases, with a total amount of 33.5 million VND. The grassroots trade unions mobilized the boards of directors of companies and enterprises to: Present 6,376 Tet gifts to employees in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of over 3 billion VND; present 326 train and bus tickets with a total amount of nearly 40 million VND; arrange 5 trips to take workers home for Tet, with a budget of 17.5 million VND; present 9,206 gifts to union members with a total amount of 2.7 billion VND; organize "Tet Sum Vay" at 6 business units with 4,163 union members attending; Lucky draw program for motorbikes, refrigerators, washing machines and many other valuable gifts, with a total prize value of more than 60 million VND.

Towards the Workers' Month 2025, the Chau Thanh District Labor Federation has proactively developed a specific action plan. The key contents include: Organizing activities in response to the Workers' Month - Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health; Program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era"; Program "Dialogue in May"; Forum "Party with workers - Workers with the Party"; Program "Thanking workers"; Peak month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions and introducing party member development; Program "Propaganda, raising awareness of union members and workers".

Along with that, the work of monitoring the implementation of labor laws, social insurance policies, and occupational safety and hygiene at enterprises has also been strengthened. The District Labor Federation has surveyed and monitored 5 enterprises, initially recording that all units have implemented legal regulations well, especially salary regime, Tet bonus and quality of shift meals, of which 5 units have increased the shift meal level to over 32,000 VND/meal.

According to comrade Tran Thuy Ai Nhan, Vice Chairman of Chau Thanh District Labor Federation, in general, the work of supervising the implementation of laws and policies directly related to employees and trade union organizations; the work of caring for the lives and protecting the legal and legitimate interests of employees is always identified by all levels of the district's trade union as a key task and maintained to be well implemented.

The majority of employees' ideological and mental situation remains stable, they comply well with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, actively work and produce, improve their lives, and contribute to economic development and social stability in the district.

In the coming time, Chau Thanh District Labor Federation will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of labor laws, trade unions, social insurance, occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting, food safety and hygiene (especially the quality of workers' meals); focus on inspecting the implementation of policies and regimes for workers, especially female workers; the implementation of democracy regulations at the grassroots level and organizing periodic dialogues at units and enterprises. At the same time, continue to promote legal consultancy activities for workers; closely monitor the situation of unpaid wages and social insurance debts at enterprises, etc.

With the motto "Each Union - One benefit for union members", Chau Thanh District Unions at all levels are making efforts to organize Workers' Month 2025 to become a peak period of action for workers. This is also an opportunity to show the attention and gratitude of the whole society to the workers - those who are contributing day and night to the sustainable development of the locality.
