In May, as the weather in Ninh Binh begins to become more pleasant, Cuc Phuong National Park seems to awaken.

The most beautiful butterfly season

The butterfly season, which brings the most "magical" feeling to Nam Cat Tien National Park ( Dong Nai province), has arrived.

Nam Cat Tien National Park is recognized by UNESCO as a "World Biosphere Reserve" in Vietnam. It is considered to possess a rich diversity of flora and fauna, home to many rare species, including many animals listed in the Red Book requiring strict protection.

Notably, Nam Cat Tien boasts over 450 species of butterflies, accounting for more than 50% of all butterfly species in Vietnam. The butterflies of Nam Cat Tien leave visitors with an unforgettable impression with their vibrant colors and appearance. These tame butterflies may gently land on shoulders or hands, fluttering around like a warm and friendly greeting.

In early summer, swarms of butterflies in the Nam Cat Tien forest are bustling with activity, adorned in their magnificent robes and costumes. Butterfly season is also the busiest time for photographers to hunt for their images.

The appearance of millions of butterflies not only enhances the poetic beauty of the forest, transforming the lush green space into a fairytale-like wonderland, but also brings it to life. Under the warm sunlight of summer mornings, millions of delicate butterflies flutter through the canopy of leaves. The birdsong, along with the characteristic sounds of the forest, makes every step feel like wandering through a wonderland.
