"Leaving the city to return to the countryside", Ms. Le Thi Hang (born in 1987) has devoted all her heart to teaching English for free to students in Nui Tuong commune (Tan Phu, Dong Nai ).

Ms. Le Thi Hang was born and raised in a commune along the Dong Nai River. When she was in school, she really liked English and chose this major when she entered university. After nearly 10 years of teaching foreign languages, in 2016, she decided to return to her hometown to carry out a community class project called Nui Tuong.

Knowing that she was a teacher "from the city", many parents sent their children to study there. One person introduced another, and the number of students increased day by day. So for many years she maintained teaching English for free to students with difficult circumstances in the area.

In addition, Ms. Hang also instills in the children a love for nature and plants. She hopes that they can both study and play, have the ability to unite, and have foreign languages so that they can later develop the village economy .

Through gardening activities, learning about nature, and sorting trash, she guides children to be aware of their responsibility to protect nature.

Not only teaching and helping students orient their future, Ms. Hang also supports many students to achieve bigger dreams, such as joining FutureU, participating in cultural exchange programs for teenagers in Korea, Cambodia, and Indonesia.

Truong Thi Anh Dao (born in 2004) is an example, she was born in Nui Tuong commune, and has been involved with the Nui Tuong Community Project since the early days. After 7 years of studying here, going through many lessons and life experiences, Anh Dao has changed a lot.

On the threshold of graduating from high school, she applied for a scholarship to Fulbright University (HCMC).

"That bold decision made many relatives think that I was just wasting my time. There were times when I thought I would collapse under the pressure and just follow the arrangements.

But thanks to Ms. Hang and the volunteers who were always there to accompany and help me, I was able to study IELTS for free and was guided in applying for a scholarship. However, I did not win the scholarship to Fulbright University as I had hoped," Anh Dao shared.

Disappointed and afraid of having to face her relatives, but with encouragement from Ms. Hang, Anh Dao continued to apply and won a scholarship from Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology (UMT), along with a scholarship to support her studies from a benefactor of Nui Tuong commune.

With the support of Ms. Le Thi Hang and volunteers at the Nui Tuong class, many students in the commune have participated in the "Young Generation of the Future" (FutureU) Program. On average, a year, the Nui Tuong class has about 70 students, with nearly 10 volunteers teaching alongside Ms. Hang.

Talking about what she has done, Ms. Hang shared that her wish is simply to do good work.

The goal of the Nui Tuong Community Project is to narrow theeducational gap of children in the commune and promote a comprehensive learning model in primary schools in rural Vietnam, creating a space for children and adolescents to develop their passion, have the opportunity to be oriented in their careers, become knowledgeable people, have a vision and a sustainable lifestyle, in harmony with nature.

Everything she does is to contribute to "giving wings" to the dreams of rural children.
