The People's Army Publishing House, in collaboration with the Center for Supporting Literary and Artistic Creation, recently concluded a literary writing camp on the theme of the Armed Forces and Revolutionary War in 2025.

A scene from the play "Comrade" - written by Le Thu Hanh, directed by People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau and Quoc Thinh, invested in by the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, which won the gold prize at the first Ho Chi Minh City Theater Festival in 2024.
Novels such as "Suppressing Bandits" by Tran Nguyen My, "The Forest Man" by Nguyen Duy Liem, "Wind from the Peak of Nhiu Co San" by Truong Thi Thuong Huyen, or "Two-Colored Rainbow" by Quynh Van… have painted vivid pictures of soldiers from the fierce battlefield to the peaceful border. In the short story and memoir genres, "Late-Blooming Chrysanthemums," "The Man Walking Against the Sun," or "Memoirs of a Private" offer humanistic glimpses, where war memories blend with the breath of contemporary life.
Beyond its literary value, the workshop's achievements have also unlocked a "gold mine" of ideas for contemporary theater. Many authors and theater directors in Ho Chi Minh City have expressed their excitement about this valuable resource.
Screenwriter Tran Van Hung stated: "We always need new material about soldiers and war, but from a human perspective, considering their circumstances and the times. The novels and memoirs from this writing camp can be transformed into profound scripts that resonate with the audience."
