Over 2,000 trees of various types were planted by officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces in this campaign.
Officers and soldiers of the 994B Infantry Regiment plant trees to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.

To commemorate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), officers and soldiers of the entire armed forces of the province planted 18,900 trees in his memory. We were present at the 994B Infantry Regiment, chosen by the Provincial Military Command as the launching point for this event, where more than 500 new trees had been planted in the unit's training ground.

Directly participating in tree planting with officers and soldiers of the 994B Infantry Regiment, Colonel Truong Ngoc Truong, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command, emphasized: "Each tree planted today not only contributes to creating a green, clean, and beautiful landscape but is also a practical action for the living environment and a sustainable future for future generations."

Also on this occasion, 500 saplings were planted at the 994A Infantry Regiment. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Thang, Political Commissar of the Regiment, shared: “Thanks to these ‘green lungs,’ soldiers can avoid the heat during training and field marches. Officers and soldiers participating in training have a green space to rest and relax. Planting trees also contributes to educating officers and soldiers about responsibility and the spirit of green living.”

According to Lieutenant Colonel Thang, each row of trees planted today spreads a message about responsibility to the community, working together to protect the environment, responding to climate change, and building a green training and learning environment for officers and soldiers today and in the future.

On May 19th alone, agencies and units within the provincial armed forces planted 18,900 trees at troop deployment locations, shooting ranges, and green parks in communes, wards, and special zones. The main tree species planted included cherry blossoms, golden shower trees, jacaranda trees, pine trees, black star trees, hybrid acacia, and crape myrtle…

Tree planting is not a one-day or two-day affair; it's a long journey that benefits many generations. At the Lam Dong Provincial Military Command, this task has been implemented continuously and effectively for many years. Lieutenant Colonel Vo Duy Hoang, Head of Logistics at the Provincial Military Command, reported that from 2016 to the present, units under the Provincial Military Command have planted over 338 hectares, with more than 887,000 trees.

In particular, the units have also effectively carried out the work of planting, caring for, managing, and protecting forests. Lieutenant Colonel Vo Duy Hoang informed that currently, the total area of forest managed by the armed forces is over 4,000 hectares. Compared to 2025, this area has changed significantly (an increase of more than 39 hectares).

This increase mainly comes from the area of natural forests. This shows that the forest management, protection, and restoration efforts of the units have yielded positive results, significantly increasing the natural forest cover. In addition, the area of planted forests has also grown significantly, from 20.99 hectares in 2025 to 96.84 hectares in 2026. This is the result of the great efforts of the units, affirmed the Head of Logistics of the Provincial Military Command.

According to the assessment of the Provincial Military Command, the training grounds in the communes of Quang Phu, Truong Xuan, Quang Son, Cu Jut, Tuy Duc, Quang Truc, Thuan Hanh, and Thuan An are currently large areas that have been effectively reforested. This creates both economic value and a beautiful landscape, serving the unit's activities and the lives of the local people.

In addition to managing and caring for natural and planted forests effectively, the Provincial Military Command continues to implement comprehensive solutions to reforest over 600 hectares of barren land under its management. This significantly contributes to the fulfillment of the armed forces' mission in particular and the task of managing, protecting, and developing forests in general.
