Questioning the Minister of Education and Training about extra teaching and learning

According to the question-and-answer session program at the 9th session, immediately after the questioning of the Minister of Finance , from 2:50 PM to 5:00 PM on June 19th, the National Assembly will conduct a questioning session on education and training with the Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Kim Son.

The questions covered the following areas: the current situation and solutions for developing and improving the quality of higher education in line with the requirements of creating high-quality human resources to meet socio-economic development needs; the implementation of legal regulations on supplementary teaching and learning; ensuring a safe, healthy, and friendly educational environment; preventing and combating school violence; and ensuring food safety and hygiene in schools.

In addition to Minister Nguyen Kim Son and Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, the Ministers of Finance, Interior, Health, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Science and Technology, and Public Security also participated in answering questions and providing explanations on related issues.

The questioning of Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son lasted until 10:20 AM on June 20th.

Then, from 10:20 to 10:35, the Prime Minister (or an authorized Deputy Prime Minister) will report and clarify related issues.

From 10:35 to 11:20, the Prime Minister (or an authorized Deputy Prime Minister) will answer questions from National Assembly deputies.

From 11:20 to 11:30, the Speaker of the National Assembly delivered the closing remarks for the question-and-answer session.

At the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly at the end of 2023, the Minister of Education and Training also appeared before the National Assembly to answer questions regarding the implementation of several resolutions of the 14th National Assembly on specialized supervision and questioning, and resolutions of the National Assembly on specialized supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th term to the end of the 4th Session concerning the field of education and training. The questions covered the structure of examinations in the general education program; the implementation of Decree No. 116/2020/ND-CP dated September 25, 2020, on policies supporting tuition fees and living expenses for teacher training students; the causes and solutions to overcome school violence; and funding for Youth Union and Young Pioneer activities in schools.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son's first time answering questions before the National Assembly was at the 2nd session of the 15th National Assembly (November 2021), about six months after he took office as Minister. The questions at that time focused on the following issues: ensuring the quality of teaching and learning, continuing the fundamental reform of education and training under the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic; ensuring effective and equitable access to education and learning opportunities for students in different regions through online teaching and learning; reducing the curriculum load for students; narrowing the educational gap between urban and rural areas, especially in remote areas, ethnic minority regions, and mountainous areas; and school safety and school health services to enable students to return to school.
