On June 15th, the Ho Chi Minh City Police, in coordination with the Long Hai Commune Police, examined the scene and investigated the cause of the fire that occurred on the Cua Lap River, in the Phuoc Tinh fishing port area.
According to Mr. Ngo Thanh Phuc, Chairman of the Long Hai Commune People's Committee, at approximately 8:48 PM on June 14th, residents discovered smoke and flames rising from a fishing boat anchored at the port.

Because the vessels were positioned close together, the fire quickly spread to the two adjacent ships, creating a large column of smoke over the harbor area.
Upon receiving the report, the forces promptly arrived at the scene and implemented measures to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading.
After more than two hours of firefighting, the fire was completely extinguished.
The fire caused no casualties; one fishing boat was half-destroyed, another suffered extensive damage, and the remaining boat was rescued from the blaze in time.
Initial estimates put the total property damage at over 100 million VND.
