Tran Vu Tra My (23 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) still clearly remembers every moment of watching the parades pass through Nguyen Hue pedestrian street from above.
"Outside, there's an atmosphere of national unity and heroism, and next to me, my family and my grandmother are watching and reminiscing about history. I feel very moved to be able to witness peace in this way," Tra My said.
Accordingly, to ensure privacy and the health of family members, especially her 85-year-old grandmother, while watching the parade, Tra My's family spent 30 million VND per night to book a presidential suite in a 5-star hotel in the heart of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
This hotel is ideally located for watching the parade. From Tra My's room, she could see the entire parade and march through Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, and clearly see the helicopter and fighter jet displays in the sky.
My's family rented the most luxurious room in the hotel, at a higher price than usual. The room, measuring 200 square meters, was furnished with high-end furniture. The design was both elegant and historically inspired, evoking many nostalgic memories, especially since they rented the room to watch the parade.
When a parade passed by, family members would "divide up" to stand near the large windows, watching, discussing, and marveling together.

Ha My said that the distance from the window to the main road was quite short, so they could see everything, including the parade and the enthusiastic cheering of the people. They could also see helicopters and planes in the sky, which was extremely spectacular.
From here, her view also encompasses iconic landmarks of the city such as Nguyen Hue pedestrian street and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee building.
"My grandmother, in particular, despite her age, was very excited to watch the parade because April 30th was a very sacred milestone for her generation."
Seeing the troops marching by, flags flying everywhere, and hearing the music coming from the streets below, she was speechless for a moment, then said, "It's been a long time since I've seen such a heroic atmosphere," the young woman shared.
However, Gen Z girls also admit that immersing themselves directly in the street atmosphere would definitely be more vibrant and lively.
Because My and her family were not healthy enough to stand for long periods, they preferred to watch from the hotel. Especially since her grandmother was elderly, the children and grandchildren wanted her to have the most comfortable, complete, and meaningful experience possible on this occasion.
According to a survey by reporters, Ho Chi Minh City is currently the tourism hub of the country, hosting a series of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country.
Not only tourists from all over flocked to the area, but many residents of Ho Chi Minh City also chose to rent hotels in the city center to watch the fireworks, drone displays, and parades from the rehearsals and general rehearsals to the official ceremony on the morning of April 30th.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, hotels ranging from 1 to 5 stars in the city center currently have occupancy rates of 95% to 100%. Many large 4- and 5-star hotels have reported full occupancy for the period from April 27th to May 1st.
Hotels in the city center area recorded occupancy rates of 80% or higher during this year's holiday season.
