"Apple is aiming to use four-sided curved display technology for a special iPhone version launched in 2027," ETNews reports.

Accordingly, this screen not only curves to the left and right edges like many previous phone models, but is also designed to wrap around both the top and bottom. This new design will create a seamless visual experience on every corner of the product.
Previously, a Bloomberg report said Apple is planning to launch "an iPhone with a curved screen and no bezels at all." The Information also revealed that at least one new iPhone model launching in 2027 will have a truly edge-to-edge display.
The new display technology is seen as a major effort by Apple in the development of next-generation hardware for the iPhone. The company is also said to be developing an OLED display driver based on a 16nm process, instead of the current 28nm process.
Sources from the supply chain said Apple will soon discuss with OLED display suppliers including Samsung Display and LG Display about implementing advanced technologies on the 20th anniversary iPhone model.

MacRumors notes that the company will face a number of technical challenges in implementing this idea. To achieve the four-sided curved screen design, Apple will need to rearrange the placement of sensors, cameras, and speakers below the screen.
Not stopping there, the four-sided curved screen design will make it difficult to ensure product durability. In addition, Apple also needs to handle a series of software-related issues so that the hardware components can operate stably.
