Comrades Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, along with other members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the event.

On June 9, 1954, our armed forces, including Special Forces Company 11, Company 22, and Company 64, launched an attack and annihilated an enemy company at the Bo Bo stronghold. On July 17, 1954, the enemy concentrated hundreds of troops and motorized vehicles to launch Operation "Leopard," sweeping around and recapturing Bo Bo. On the night of July 18, the enemy concentrated their forces at Bo Bo.
At exactly 0:30 AM on July 19, 1954, our assault units simultaneously attacked the Bo Bo stronghold. The enemy resisted fiercely, but the assault units of our troops and guerrillas advanced close to the enemy formations, using grenades and hand bombs to attack. The enemy's vehicle depot was set ablaze, the artillery shell field exploded, leaving the French with nowhere to hide and resist. After more than 3 hours of fighting, 150 enemy soldiers were killed and 293 were captured, including Colonel Camilet-Tiphelit, the commander of the operation.
Mr. Tran Uc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Ban town, affirmed that the second Bo Bo victory on July 19, 1954, demonstrated the spirit of continuous offensive action to annihilate the enemy, the awareness of close coordination with the main battlefield and inter-regional command, pushing the enemy deeper into a passive and losing position on the Quang Nam - Da Nang battlefield. This victory was the culmination of strength, indomitable fighting spirit, and profound solidarity between the army and the people. To achieve that victory, not only the armed forces, hundreds of guerrillas, and civilian laborers braved the gunfire, transported the wounded, collected war spoils, and escorted prisoners, but also many comrades and compatriots heroically sacrificed their lives before the decisive moment of victory.
In December 2008, the Bo Bo Victory Monument was classified as a provincial-level revolutionary historical relic by the Provincial People's Committee. Notably, on March 12, 2024, the Bo Bo Victory site was officially classified as a national-level revolutionary historical relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung emphasized that the 70th anniversary of the Bo Bo Victory is an opportunity for today's generation to recall the glorious achievements, full of sacrifices and hardships, but extremely glorious, of the army and people.
“Seventy years have passed, but the Bo Bo Victory remains a great source of pride for the Party Committee, government, military, and people of Dien Ban town in particular, and Quang Nam province in general. The Bo Bo Victory will forever be etched in the history of our homeland and country, glorifying the revolutionary traditions of the brave and resilient land of Quang Nam, and contributing to the education of heroic and revolutionary traditions for future generations,” emphasized Comrade Le Van Dung.

More than 49 years after the liberation of the homeland, Dien Ban, along with the rest of the province, has continuously developed and progressed. The economy continues to grow at a high rate; many projects, urban areas, commercial and service zones along the coast have been established; transportation infrastructure has been invested in comprehensively; and the quality of life for the people has improved significantly.
According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung, in the context of increasing globalization and international integration, the tasks facing Dien Ban town are enormous. Therefore, the Party Committee, government, and people of Dien Ban town need to focus on building upon achievements, overcoming difficulties, and continuing to build Dien Ban town into a strong and comprehensive town.
Leveraging existing advantages, mobilizing and effectively utilizing all resources to invest in rapid and sustainable economic development. Shifting the economic structure towards increasing the proportion of services and industry. Mobilizing all resources to invest in a synchronized and interconnected transportation infrastructure. Continuing to exploit the potential of the region's culture, history, and people to find a unique path for tourism development in Dien Ban.

In addition, focus should be placed on restoring and developing traditional craft villages, creating jobs for rural workers. Building advanced and model new rural areas should be linked to eco-tourism in the countryside. Investment should be made in completing urban infrastructure in the eastern and coastal regions, connecting and creating a continuous urban chain with neighboring localities of Da Nang and Hoi An. Improving the quality of human resources is also crucial to meet the demands of integration and development.
In particular, localities need to pay attention to and effectively implement social welfare policies; and fully and promptly implement policies for those who have rendered meritorious service to the nation.
