The WWDC 2025 developer conference will take place with the first keynote at 12:00 a.m. on June 10 (Vietnam time). Similar to previous years, Apple is expected to focus on launching new software features. The only difference is that users will have to wait a year for improvements to Apple Intelligence.

Based on rumors and analyst predictions, Apple will focus on introducing a new software interface. The company is expected to bring some interesting information about Apple Intelligence, but users should not expect groundbreaking improvements.

What will Apple bring to WWDC 2025?

Responding to Tri Thuc – Znews , analyst Le Xuan Chiew from market research firm Canalys , predicts that WWDC 2025 could mark a turning point in Apple’s AI strategy. In addition to the usual software updates, the Apple may introduce some improvements to Apple Intelligence.

Apple is expected to update the development process of a new version of Siri, capable of handling tasks directly on the device and integrating deeply into the application. For programmers, the company can release new tools, supporting easier integration of AI into the application. Apple also does not forget to emphasize the privacy factor to differentiate itself from competitors.

“These software updates not only engage users in new ways, but also drive the iPhone upgrade cycle, especially for models equipped with Apple Silicon processors that support AI task processing,” said Mr. Chiew.

According to predictions from Canalys , 25% of Apple devices on the market by the end of 2025 will support AI, but the software must be updated to keep up with all user needs.

Recently, competitors such as Samsung, Google and Microsoft have continuously improved AI tools, launched new models or increased cooperation.

These moves put pressure on Apple, especially as iOS users have “significant pent-up demand” for AI. However, users should not expect too much from the upcoming AI features.

According to analyst Le Xuan Chiew, for every 100 iPhones, there are 8.7 ChatGPT app downloads, higher than Android (5.0/100 devices). This shows that the demand for AI on Apple devices is quite high.

“If Apple can meet demand with built-in features, while differentiating itself with privacy, seamless user experience, and tight integration into the ecosystem, WWDC could be a major turning point.

However, users should not expect too much because Apple chooses a phased deployment strategy, expanding features over time," Mr. Chiew told Tri Thuc - Znews .

New information about iOS 26

The new look of iOS 26 is expected to be a major highlight at WWDC 2025. In a Power On report on Bloomberg , analyst Mark Gurman highlighted that this will be the biggest change in the interface since iOS 7 in 2013.

When Apple launched the first iPhone in 2007, it adopted a skeuomorphism approach to its interface. For example, the Notes app resembled a yellow notebook, the Maps app resembled a paper map, and the Game Center interface resembled a card table.

“The iPhone and iPad were some of the first mainstream touchscreen devices in the world, so using an object-based approach to software design helps users quickly get used to how to use it. Once customers are familiar with touchscreens, that idea is no longer relevant,” Gurman said.

That's why in 2013, iOS 7 removed the above elements, switching to a flat interface with bright colors, simple and modern. After 12 years, Apple is ready to change the iOS interface to a new style.

The new interface elements, called Liquid Glass, mimic the gloss and transparency of glass, Gurman said, and the style is expected to be applied to all interface elements, across multiple devices from iPhones, iPads to Macs.

“The main interface elements are like digital glass… Toolbars and navigation will change, app icons and buttons will be redesigned. There is a focus on menu pop-ups, meaning users can tap a button to open a list of additional actions,” Gurman said.

The new design also extends to home screen widgets. Safari is expected to get a “big overhaul” with a more transparent, sleeker address bar.

The Phone app is said to be getting a new view that combines call history, favorite contacts, and voice messages into one scrolling screen. Finally, the Preview app on macOS will come to iPhone and iPad, making it easier to view and mark up PDFs.

The new interface, however, is just one part of Apple’s larger strategy. According to Bloomberg , Liquid Glass is a precursor to new hardware products, including a special iPhone model in 2027 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone.

“The 20th anniversary iPhone will expand on the glass phone idea, featuring curved glass all the way around the edges. Even the bezels will be very thin, and the screen will no longer have a notch. Internally, Apple has called the 2027 iPhone ‘Glasswing,’ referring to the butterfly with transparent wings,” Gurman emphasized.

According to Bloomberg , the Liquid Glass interface can help users temporarily forget the fact that Apple is lagging behind in the field of AI. Although there is still a long way to go, Apple needs to prove its ability to succeed in the field if it wants to maintain its competitive position in the long term.
