Ancient Thang Long, also known as Ke Cho (Market Town), was a hub for various trades and a marketplace, meeting the daily needs of the capital city. From that time to the present, Thang Long Hanoi has always been considered one of the largest markets in the country. Markets in Thang Long existed very early. In 1035, the Ly Dynasty opened Tay Lai Market, Cua Dong Market, and gradually famous traditional markets such as Dong Xuan Market, Hang Be Market, Hang Da Market, Hom Market, Cua Nam Market, etc., appeared with bustling buying, selling, and trading activities.
